Topic: DARK STAR- who has seen John Carpenter's first film?

I saw this in 1975 at the drive in as a little kid and the beach ball cracked me up! I also liked it when the guy surfed into the planet. A great early effort from Carpenter.

Heard a lot about it.  Never seen it.

It's great. I haven't seen it since the drive in and I want to keep those memories-I was 12-intact; on the other hand, I'd like to see it again and see the mother of all Carpenter's later work. Maybe , I can do both. I think it would be interesting for all the Carpenter fans today to see it and give thier reaction to his early work. It's very stoner friendly. I saw it twice in the 70's. I'm older than dirt!

I watched it on DVD a while ago.  It was very strange, had some oddball comedy in it.  One or two laugh out loud....I really enjoyed it.

I really would love to hear his younger fans reaction to it.
