Topic: Midnight Movie - 7PM screening this Saturday 7/18

This Saturday, August 18th, Madison Horror presents the one time theatrical screening of the new genre classic, Midnight Movie. A special video introduction by director Jack Messitt launches this blood stained feature.

Chicago Horror Film Festival’s 2008 pick for Best Director, Best Cinematographer and Fangoria’s DVD of the month, tells the story of a group of friends who attend the midnight screening of a 1970s cult horror film. These unsuspecting teenagers are unaware that the director and star of the movie made a bloody escape from a psych ward five years earlier and may still be on the loose.

As the midnight movie begins, the kids heckle the old black-and-white scenes. But they are jolted when the killer butchers one of their friends...on screen! They soon realize that the killing is not a prank. They are locked inside the theatre and the killer from the movie is after them!

The screening will be held at the Market Square Cinema located at 6604 Odana Road in Madison , WI . Tickets for the event are $5 and may be purchased in advance at Westfield Comics, 7475 Mineral Point Rd. or online at madisonhorror dot com . To See more on the film visit midnightmovie dot com .

I watched this for the first time about a week ago.  Not too bad of a movie...but the ending was a bit weak.

What's funny...is that say, twenty years from now...this would be a cult movie that centers around teens watching an older cult movie.  tongue

I have seen this film, quite liked it. Original not 100% but surpassable. It's just good wholesome bloody entertainment and that's all I asked of big_smile

I hate when people say "new genre classic".  What is this new genre you speak of?  How is it a classic already?  Decisions and BTK seem OK with it, but that does not make a classic.  A classic would be "Holy dancing daisies!  Go see it now now now now!!!"  Sound like a decent movie, just drop the marketing-speak.

Agree Azay, like I said good entertainment but not awesome. True classic? Night of the Living Dead, 'nuff said lol

Yeah, it's not a new genre classic at all. I didn't even like it, but hey, I'm sure someone thinks it's a classic. Anyone? Anyone?
