Topic: Greatest (non horror_ movie soundtrack of all-time

Rocky Horror has been retired to the hall of fame and is therefore ineligible.

Re: Greatest (non horror_ movie soundtrack of all-time

I'm stuck between three whose soundtracks I love oh so much.

The Shawshank Redemption which has such an ethereal quality to the soundtrack.
The Usual Suspects, which is def. a score I cannot forget. I hear it and I remember every syllable and
American Beauty, absolute gorgeous! smile

Re: Greatest (non horror_ movie soundtrack of all-time

Dances With Wolves has a lovely soundtrack with music by John Barry.

Re: Greatest (non horror_ movie soundtrack of all-time

maybe musicals should be ineligible too wink

Re: Greatest (non horror_ movie soundtrack of all-time

without question "Once Upon a Time In The West" by Ennio Morricone closely followed by "Once Upon  A Time In Amercia" also by the maestro Morricone.

"It also left a man's decapitated body, lying on the floor next to his own severed head. · A head which at this time has no name"
"I know his name"

Depending on my mood, depth of nostalgia and the amount of black eyeliner I'm wearing, I would veer between The Crow, Restless Natives, Highlander or Pretty In Pink.  lol

EDIT: Can't believe I forgot to mention Breaking Glass.  More '80's goodness. smile

The crow as far as various artists, hard to say on other. I will think. Last of the Mochicans and the dark knight are popping up right now though.

Re: Greatest (non horror_ movie soundtrack of all-time

PAT GARRETT AND BILLY THE KID by Bob Dylan. He wrote Knocking on Heaven's Door for that film. A film by Sam Peckinpah I might add.

But you'll have to excuse me. I've got a bone for BTK's new avatar. http://fangoria.com/components/com_comment/joscomment/emoticons/Yolks/images/!blush.png

That's my favorite western One Bad Seed.. and i'm finding it hard to pick a favorite soundtrack.. but i will say IMO the best use of a song in a movie goes to Good Morning Vietnam, Louis Armstrong - What a Wonderful World .

The Breakfast Club, cool, when it ends on Simple Mind's 'Don't You Forget about Me', that's a "oh my f*ckin 'A', YES!!" moment. Plus add other kick ass tracks and it's definitely a favourite of mine. big_smile
