The commercial itself is stupid.
However considering how much buying power most kids of the age group that the Twilight saga is aimed at,not really a stupid business move.

Marketing anything Twilight is going to increase sales in a good way.  I just heard that they were putting the first Twilight back in theaters for one day before New Moon comes out and I have no doubts they are going to add a few more million to their already high number.
