Thanks!!

I hope you got the Best Buy exclusive Blu-Ray edition of Basterds the hour long "Times" interview with Tarantino was great. I'm realy digging the special features too... the clapper and Hi Sally moments were classic.
I'm such a Tarantino fan. I seen Basterds 11 times in theatres (and it doesn't get old); but I watched it today on blu (of course smile ) and it gets me everytime of how shearly brilliant QT is as a filmmaker. Needless to say I had to watch it again right after. This and Pulp truly are film drugs!! They are just so damn addicting.

Re: What are your favorite directors?

Scorsese, Spielberg, Lucas, Apatow, Carpenter, Cunningham, Zombie, Cameron, Burton, Darabont

Re: What are your favorite directors?

It was damn hard to come up with this list. There were some filmmakers like Peckinpah, Spielberg, Cameron and Fellini that I thought for sure would make the top 20 list but when you lay it all out and take a look and start to actually figure out the list it can surprise you. In all reality Cameron should be in Bruce McDonald's spot But I had to weigh in directors control; and up until Avatar Cameron had full control, but the studio made him cut it to a PG-13 rating and a run time of 3hrs (The original version was R and 4hrs and 3 min long) which is where I think Cameron lost his touch a bit. I still think he is a wonderful filmmaker. (But then again I havent seen Avatar yet).
And Spielberg to a filmmaker just never comes into play. He is like that guy we just don't talk about because we know he is great and we don't feel the need to point that out.
It shocked me Coppola only made 7th.

Re: What are your favorite directors?

Dammit I forgot to add Neil Jordan. He gave me three movies I adore and think he is vastly underrated. He doesn't get a lot of respect and I do think he deserves it esp for the beauty that is: The Company of Wolves.

So adding Neil Jordan to my list smile

Re: What are your favorite directors?

Like most here this is in no particular order or genre:

Takashi Miike
David Fincher
Frank Henenlotter
Park Chan Wook
Milos Foreman
Richard Linklater
Oliver Stone
Quentin Tarantino
Richard Kelly
Gus Van Sant
David Lynch

I am sure there are many, many more... but these come to mind and are all highly respected by me.

Re: What are your favorite directors?

^^ DP, fantastic to see Fincher on your list too. One of my favourite directors he's not actually disappointed me yet, even in his weaker films they still are a lot better than many movies out there so nice to see him getting the respect he deserves. smile

Re: What are your favorite directors?

I forgot these ones............

Alejandro Jodorowsky
David Cronenberg
Terry Gilliam
