Topic: 2001 Maniacs Sequel.

According to UHM.com Bill Moseley will replace Robert Englund as "Mayor Buckman".
Going straight-to-DVD.
Said to be the second installment in a planned trilogy, with the third being 2001 Maniacs: The Hellbillys Have Eyes, but that depends on DVD sales of this one.

I like Bill Moseley but I would have liked Robert Englund to have reprised his role in it.

I liked the first one. It was a good remake, done in the spirit of the original without being scene by scene to make it distinct, yet paying homage to its roots. This and the first R. Zombie Halloween remake are examples of how remakes should be done. I fear the sequel will be an obvious attempt at creating a franchise.

It won't be better, I can't see that at all, especially without Englund in that role. I love Moseley but not in that role I don't think.
