Topic: Who was the best James Bond?

Debate. Have fun and enjoy the martini, 'shaken but not stirred' wink

But in your opinion who played Bond the best?

Between the spoof of Casino Royale in '67 and a 1954 TV Production of Royale, overall there have been quite a few actors to take on the role of this suave character.

But who was your favourite and why?

Better yet who was your least favourite and why?

My absolute favourite was Sean Connery,

fantastic voice and played the character extremely well, following a close second is Timothy Dalton. smile

Now to you guys. Your favourite, your least favourite. Favourite/ Least Favourite book, same for movies. Go wild and have fun with your choices. wink

Thanks Y'all

BTK.

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

I voted for Sean Connery! cool

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

Definitely Connery.

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

Sean Connery is the man. Behind his black tie and his fancy martini was a real bad-ass. Connerys' Bond was not only smooth, but he didn't take shit from anybody. Furthermore all of the films Connery was in were the best Bond films altogether. From Russia with Love, Goldfinger, Dr.no. Real classics ! Hell. I even liked the last one he did called Never say Never.

Interesting fact: At one point Sean Connery said that he would never do any more Bond films. He told producers "Never!"  Well, some years later he did another one, and for fun they named it Never say Never. lol

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

I had to go with Craig to be honest.

I was stuck between him and Dalton.  I read most of my dad's copies books before I really got into the movies and Bond in the books is rather cold hearted.  He could romance when needed, but if you got in his way, he wouldn't think twice about killing.

Dalton I think was very close to what Fleming had written.  Craig I think developed him a bit more and I think is a good balance between Fleming and movie liberties.

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

It is a tie between Daniel and Sean. I love Seans sex appeal and Daniel's kick assness

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

Sean Connery he will ALWAYS be James to me tongue purrrrrr

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

I've gotta go with Sean Connery as well, he always came across as the most authentic to me and seemed to understand the character in ways most of the other guys didn't.

Least Favorite: George Lazenby. He was a lousy actor and was only in one pretty lousy Bond film. But George is an easy target. Next to him, my least favorite Bond was Roger Moore. I didn't buy him from the get go, he came off as too happy to be what James Bond really is, a hardened killer. Connery comes off as a moody bastard anyways, so he's perfect.

He not only was an official james bond (for one movie) but he reprise his role unofficially in an alfred hitchcock presents segment as a secret agent named "James". lol

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

It was Pearce Brosnan, until I saw Casino Royale.  Daniel Craig blew me away in that flick.  Quantum of Solace may have sucked balls, but I'm looking forward to his next Bond flick.

Connery would be my third, mostly because From Russia With Love is my favorite Bond flick after Casino Royale and Goldeneye.

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

Connery. Was in perfect balance everyone else was too silly or too serious. Connery was the best.

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

Connery, then Brosnan.  Connery defined Bond.  Now they are just fancy boys.

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

Roger Moore for me

Loved him w/ Jane Seymour in "Live and Let Die", BUT Sean Connery is Bond.

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

It's been years since I've seen any James Bond film, but I think I'd have to go with Daniel Craig. Call it ignorance, call it a bad memory, but I think he does the role justice the way no one else has. Of course, I'd have to watch the series again to deal with that "I think" part, but I'd like to think I can remember enough to judge. And, if not, then there's always the whole "personal opinion" cover that people so often run to when their statements aren't too well received.

Though, personally, I've kinda always wanted to see Bond played by John Cleese.

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

John Cleese lol
Mr. Bean could be ms. Moneypenny

That would be different.  Though that chick from the Avengers wouldn't be too bad, either.

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

Never seen james Bond movie in full hmm

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

Not a fan of the some of the older bonds although i liked connery but my favourite is daniel craig. smile

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

Craig is the best since Connery but, for now, Sean is still the best.

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

Anyone who's enemy is Octopussy has got to be the main man, in my opinion.

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

Hands down Sean Connery!!!!

Re: Who was the best James Bond?

i gotta say Pierce Brosnan, Goldeneyes my favourite Bond film
