Hey guys! I'm new on this forum - I'm a young filmmaker, currently in the final pre-production stages of my first feature! This thread is a great idea just to say - and it seems like the question I want to ask is best asked to you lot here!
There's a scene in my film, where two men are being tortured by the villains, and one of the men is tied up and his hand is placed on the ground - and the villain uses a hammer to slowly go from the pinky finger to the thumb, smashing each of the fingers in with his hammer. Probably like many of you, I'm no fan of gore or violence in films that shies away - if somebody is getting their fingers hammered in, I want to SEE their fingers getting hammered in! I want the scene to be as horrifying as possible, and plan to shoot the hammer hitting the fingers in full detail. Trouble is - I've no idea how to do it. That's where you guys come in!
I tried the scene out in a test video, using a fake hand. The hand had nothing inside like, so when you hit it - the finger actually went in, and it did look okay, but I want to try some alternatives. I'd like for there to be some blood released perhaps, or something along those lines.
Anyway - hopefully you guys can help me! Sonny, particularly, I loved your photos up there and think your makeup work looks brilliant!
