Re: Favorite American Remake of a Foreign Film

I've never been fond of American remakes, especially of Asian horror.

the only exceptions I've seen (for me, at least) have been Pulse - but only because it seemed more like a continuation, as though what had happened in the original spread to the States, so that's not so bad, and I was actually surprised by The Eye - I didn't think I'd like it, but it wasn't that bad. The Ring and the Grudge, bleh, to be honest, neither versions did much for me, but I suppose the remakes weren't that bad.

I still haven't been able to bring myself to see The Uninvited; A Tale of Two Sisters is one of my favourite films of all time, and just the idea of it being fucked up in any way... I dunno, just don't know if I can bring myself to that point.

Re: Favorite American Remake of a Foreign Film

if you love A Tale of Two Sisters (I'm also in this club smile ) - you'll wish you were the one uninvited to the remake. Fair warning LOL

Re: Favorite American Remake of a Foreign Film

I had a feeling that'd be how I felt, hence why I have yet to see it ;P

Re: Favorite American Remake of a Foreign Film

I saw it at the theaters not even realizing going into it that it was a remake.  Urgh. I'd have rather spent 90 minutes poking hot curlers into my rectum.

Luckily the night was still young when it was over lol lol

Re: Favorite American Remake of a Foreign Film

"The Departed" was fantastic.   A good example of a remake done right.

"The Magnificent Seven".
