Topic: The Horror Channel
Anyone able tocatch/watch this in whichever region you live? The opening night of it over here was pretty damn good, but then...it started to show genuinely terrible stuff, I don't mind cheese, but all they play is "Creepshow" or "Tenebre" then something similar, followed by crappy stuff! I don't cate about budgets, but the movies just verge on softcore porn bad. When I've caught it early there have been some interesting fanzine/documentary things though. I prefer the Sci Fi movies replays of the old 70s and 80s classics. Any opinions?

In Canada we have what is called "SCREAM" And it is pretty darn good. For the most part it plays good stuff but you get the eventual CRAP on it to. SCi-FI network is a great network as well for horror / sci-fi and cult films. Anyone else seen the horror channel?

There are acually two different Horror Channels.. One is in Europe and one is here in the states that is yet to launch.. I can't wait for the U.S. horror channel to take off.. They have some really great looking shows waiting in the wings.. I hope they launch soon..

haha ... see to me loading a 5 disc dvd player is just far to time consuming. I prefer a woman and a single disk dvd player, its cheaper *Ducks before the women kill him*

Hmm I couldn't tell you.. I don't even think the folks at The Horror Channel know what their launch is going to be like.. But if it is a large cable company you will probably get it.. I'm kind of guessing that I won't be getting it here.. My cable company sucks..

I have known for some time that the Horror Channel was dead. Problem is I couldnt say shit since I didnt want my contact getting in trouble over it. For them to just lockout the people who worked on the site is complete shit. Making the show as a web channel is an interesting idea, all be it i dont know how it could work.

Considering it was supposed to launch two years ago, I have had my doubts for a while. But at the forums they kept promising important announcements were coming. Well, so long to that, I guess we can start pulling for the Fangoria channel. As for a web channel, that may be interesting if it were free.

That really sucks. I don't think a web channel would work. I respect Creepy, Foy, Butane and all of them over at Horrorchannel...it was one of my favorite places to browse and Foywonder's reviews were so funny if it was a bad film. Apparently they are remaking Dread Central due to be launched on July 4th...I hope so.

Yea I'm really going to miss some of the original shows that they has set up.. Especially Horrors Hallowed Grounds.. I had heard Sean Clark say he had offers from other stations to take it so maybe he will go that route.. It would be awesome if Sci Fi picked it up or Spike even.. Someone on basic cable..

sci-fi would definitely be interested. Spike TV I am not so sure about since they dont tend to do genre shows that much.

Well they do have Blade.. I know Sean Clark was offered by some major channels to take his show but he turned them down.. He didn't want to be known as the guy who turned his back on the Horror Channel.. I'm anxiously awaiting what he will do next..

Sci-Fi...okay sometimes. Sometimes thier movies are pretty bad (insert many choices here), sometimes they are decent (IMO SS DOOMTROOPER) and they do get the broadcast rights to good films like DOG SOLDIERS. It was where I got my first exposure to the movie.

Yea Sci Fi is the best channel in the states for Horror plus just about everyone in the states gets it.. Not like some other channels.. Thats why I said Sci Fi.. I agree their movies are dreadful but they show some decent TV shows.. Tales from the Crypt, Twilight Zone, Amazing Stories, and The Outer Limits..

Sci Fi is definitely the channel that seems to get the best movies, with some filler alebit, but always has a good show, well, when you hear "And now, a Sci Fi channel production..." you know you can turn it off safely.

So is anyone else surprised the the horror channel has not responded to the posts of the webteam being locked out and the tv show being dead? I am really surprised they have not had anything to say about it. Just locking up all their forums and letting rumors run rampant just gives it more credibility.

Agreed with you Meh. I went to thier forums I guess shortly after they locked it up. I thought they were doing some kind of update or something or other but I guess not. The higher ups are probably trying to let this all blow over or wait to gather some kind of BS statment to try and push the problems to the webteam. I trust Creepy's or Foy's word over thiers any day.
