Topic: CGI effects??

Hey guys i need a lil help. As many fo you know im tryign to get my first horror movie done and theres some things in my movie that would be hard to do aka gunshots and a few surprises. Soo i was wondering if you guys know of any free downloadable CGI effects or any other program that coudl help me out a lil bit. I was watchign short filsm on youtube and alot of them made mostly by teens have some sort of CGI effect and it is cheap but thats what i want sooo please help me out thanks big_smile

"Final Cut" is the best editing software you can get.  I'm sure you can play around with a bunch of different FX.  Below is a video on how to do a pracical gunshot effect:

Hey Tim where can I get that final cut stuff?? and how bout a software where i could use animation like that kid did in his episode to make the countdown and his logo?? thats probably a stupid question but Im stuck there thanks

Hey Sick i do know a couple of programs that you can mess around with the effects and title(s):

Adobe After Effects
Adobe Premiere

You can probably do what they did with a simple editing program like Windows Movie Maker or iMovie.  But, if you want top notch, go with Final Cut.  Best editing program in the world and even a large portion of indie filmmakers use it.

Well, Final Cut only works if you own a Mac. For Windows I'd recommend Adobe After Effects. I've used for a couple of weeks and still trying to learn everything to create some amazing effects. Although you'll probably also need a software like 3D Studio Max or Maya but those are extremely expensive. You may probably try to look for Blender which is more accesible pricewise.

For PC, I'd recommend Abode Premiere.  It's a bit pricey, but it's probably worth it.

thanks tim ur alot of help Im just kidding big_smile  and i got another question I wanna make my own blood and I tried to make it and its a bright red im lookign to make dark blood and I look on the internet and found some reciepes and i dunno soo does anythign have a good blood reciepe??/ thanks

You can try adding chocolate syrup.  It not only makes it darker, but also edible.  big_smile

No problem, man.  If you have the "Slither" DVD, there is a special feature that teaches you how to make fake blood.  Check it out.

thanks kruz for that site ok i was on this other site and i beleive i ruined my blood i added milk to it! and no it smells soooo bad soo i think i need to get rid of it?? u guys think i should and again i made this bout 2 weeks ago

Yes!  I can only image how nasty it smells.  Get rid of that shit and start over.  Here's what you do:

1. Heat up some water
2. Add corn syrup
3. Add red food coloring (to desired color)
4. Add chocolate syrup (not to dark)

There ya' go!  Good luck!

yea tim that chocolate syrup works great too bad i ruined it wit milk but i got a nice dark blood out of it thats a pretty good tip big_smile
