Well, like Surv I grew up on the Roger Moore Bond flicks. I never saw Connery in the role until Never Say Never again, and wasn't impressed. Years later I saw the other Connery Bond flicks, and thought while he was better than Moore, he still didn't overly impress me. Except with From Russia with Love, which is one of my favorite Bond movies.
I thought Lazenbi did what he could with the story he was given. Too bad he didn't do another Bond flick, he certain had the physicality.
I liked Timothy Dalton -- mainly because he's a genuine, real-life tough guy who does his own stunts, but the Bond movies he worked on were kind of "eh," IMO.
Then Pierce Brosnan came along in Goldeneye and impressed the hell out of me. His subsequent Bond flicks were hit or miss, but in that flick Brosnan was the James Bond I'd always imagined the character to be. Suave, debonair, bad-ass. His end fight with Sean Bean is one of my very favorite Bond showdowns.
Then Daniel Craig blew the lid off the role in Casino Royale. He was also good in Quantum of Solace, though the film itself was a mess.
Here's how I'd rank them:
5 Favorite Bond flicks:
Casino Royale
Goldeneye
From Russia with Love
For Your Eyes Only
You Only Live Twice
Favorite Bonds (in order)
Daniel Craig
Pierce Brosnan (a VERY close second)
Sean Connery
Timothy Dalton
Roger Moore
George Lazenbi
