My understanding is that the sequel is going to be direct to video and is going to be a stand alone story having no connection with the first film. Plus its rumored the cast is going to be younger than the first film...doesnt sound promising...

I loved the first film although I did have a couple of gripes with it. One of them being the pyramid head bit which I felt was just a weak attempt to add C.G.I and gore and really didn't do the big guy justice. Also in the game pyramid head was a metaphor for Harrys inner demons i.e. sexual frustration etc. so no harry = no pyramid head. As with all game movies I watch them as a seperate entity and as movies go I loved it. So bring on the sequel

I have very few complaints about the first Silent Hill.
The main one is certain parts of the movie are too much from the game (Specifically where she finds the knife to cut through something and then immediately drops it) and the sequel could do without moments like that.
Definitely looking forward to this as Silent hill was the first time a horror movie actually made me cringe in year.

I loved the first one it totally freaked me out I couldnt watch it alone in the middle of the day had to watch it with my bff cause if freaked me out so bad.

Yah I remember the first Silent Hill was the first movie to ever scare me the way it did. It was the first time that I wasn't sure what to do, look at the screen or cover my eyes (seriously). I went back and forth, not wanting to miss it, but a bit too scared to look. It builds sucha strong creepy atmosphere, and tha air raid horn, I have always found that scary sounding even before the movie. The part I am referring to that freaked me out that way was the janitor coming out of the stall, I don't know why, just extremely creepy and weird atmosphere and the movie just thrusts you in. I loved it. I cannot wait for the second one!
But different things care different people, I find demons/monsters scary, but some find the more realistic films scary like Silenece of the Lambs. Yet slashers are my favourite I don't know why haha, maybe cause they were the first true horror films I had seen.

I think the first one did pretty good capturing the creepieness of the video games...a cool spooky story and The Darkness, that dude was bad ass!

I had no idea they were gonna make a second one! Loved the first one. But I went to iMDb and they have a lot more info for this movie. Check it out

I was a little disappointed by the first one, but I still liked it (I loved Pyramid Head... if only they had gone with the original idea for the ending). Hopefully, the sequel is better.
