This was great...thanks Cap.  I just went back and read em all from both Threads.  Hadn't seen these before.  It's cool to read these interviews of people I have been reading the posts of for a couple months now.  Cool to see their opinions and what got them into horror.  Nice idea.

Its tendency to relive its past instead of breaking new boundaries. The young audience’s apparent resistance to discovering older films. Certain formulaic clichés absolutely drive me mental. The way the genre’s importance in the overall art of cinema is often neglected and/or not deemed worthy of critical merit

Of more recent offerings, I found the Friday The 13th remake completely ineffective, unintentionally funny and ultimately, entirely pointless. If you’re going to mess with a classic of that magnitude, you better bring it. It didn’t. At all. I’ve found far more inventiveness in any given Andy Milligan film, which is saying a lot to those in the know.
