We had a lower number of attendees this time, which we attributed to the Father's Day weekend.
This was our first member submitted suggestion for a Movie Night. FloridaPossum went for the "drive-in experience," as the movies had built in clips and commercials that were seen in the 1970s drive-in theaters (parking lots?). Unfortunately, Possum was not able to attend due to some other, last minute engagements. Yes, we did properly skewer for that throughout the night. 
"The Giant Gila Monster" was quite fun. Halfway through the movie someone, I believe TheCreature, checked and found out it was actually on MST3K. I think we did a fair job of emulating them, though I had to replace the robots with talking monkeys. You will have to listen to the podcast to hear my monkeys mocking the movies. The plot was the often used 'radiation made big monster' theme that was popular in the 1950s. The musical aspect (there were several 'special songs'), however, made it somewhat unique.
Our second official movie was "Bubba's Chili Parlor." This is an independent, direct to video zombie movie. It was a mixed bag. Some of the FX were good, and some were, ah, not so good. Such as shooting a zombie in the face and blood spurts out the top of her head. The most frustrating thing about the film is that it took about 50 minutes to find our the supposed source of zombie-ism, in a 80 minute films. We were wondering why there are zombies, and what does it have to do with the chili? The second act of the film was rather slow, and that was when we kicked into MST3K mode again.
We again had an 'afterparty,' we dwindled as the night moved on. We started with "Drag Me to Hell," which started a lot of talk about Sam Raimi and comparisons to his other movies. Fun film, but with an unsatisfying end.
Next up was "Slither." I have to admit this is a favorite of mine, due to the 'Night of the Creeps' influence and star Nathan Fillion. Lon, as usual, had tons of background info on the cast. He really needs to write a book on films. Yeah, he's that good. On a personal note, 'Zilla and I managed to sing a few duets during the movie. If you want your eardrums shattered by bad singing, listen to the podcast. I deny all responsibility.
At 3AM, we put in the 'House on Haunted Hill' remake. Another fun one to watch. A bunch of good actors and good FX. The Night finally ended at 4:30AM, for a total time of 9.5 hours. (Well, 15 minutes were lost when I punched my computer and disconnected the Skype connection. It was a fly on my laptop.)
Overall, everyone seemed to have much fun mocking the movies and inserted commercials. The films were cheesy, but in a great way. Our next Movie Night has been chosen by Lon, who is doing a '1970s Haunted House' themes, with 'The Legend of Hell House' and 'The Sentinel.' More serious this time, but still ripe for discussion.
