Topic: Nietzsche

I've had a fascination with Friedrich Nietzsche lately, and I've been reading as many bios and watching as many documentaries as I can about him. I think he was a brilliant philosopher, although I haven't read any of his works yet.

So has anyone on the board read anything by Friendrich Nietzsche?

Re: Nietzsche

I've read his stuff back in 2005 and he's very interesting to say the least

Re: Nietzsche

I've dabbled.
His 'Beyond Good And Evil' I found particularly interesting

Re: Nietzsche

Wasn’t it his dyslexic brother Bob Nietzsche that said “Dog is dead” ?

Re: Nietzsche

Nietzche's a buzz-kill.  If I wanted nihilism I'd get back together with my kid's mom.

Re: Nietzsche

He wrote some pretty good stuff. Thus Spake Zarathustra is meant to be philosophy but it reads like fiction. It helps to read and re-read him though. I've caught things I missed the first time 'round.

I'm hoping to find & pick up 'Thus Spoke Zarathustra' at the library in a couple weeks or so.
