Topic: I'm going to The Stanley
Thought I would share something I think is kinda cool... In a few weeks my wife and I are scheduled to spend four nights at The Stanley Hotel. We reserved two nights in room 217, which is the room Stephen King stayed in and got the inspiration for The Shining. We also reserved two nights in room 401, which reportedly has the most paranormal activity. I'm sharing this here because I think HM one of the places people may appreciate this type of thing. I am a believer in the paranormal, however, do not have expectations of experiencing anything like that there. This is more for the experience, and going somewhere as notable as The Stanley. I am looking forward to it. I will post some pics.

Re: I'm going to The Stanley
Thanks vengey and Deady. Deady - You've made mention about your paranormal beliefs in posts, though they were subtle remarks. Curious what experiences you've had...not that I expect you to share.
Re: I'm going to The Stanley
I actually went into detail about several before, I think. any-boo, one of the strangest things I saw thankfully was seen by 2 other witnesses also. We all watched a small formless mass the size of about a soccer ball move across our backyard and as it moved it increased in size and took the shape of a small hunchbacked looking figure. that was freaky deaky! heard things, smelled things (wolfie's ass doesn't count, I know what you're thinking), been awoken by a thing or two, and we once had a plastic human skull replica get pushed off the table by a spirit during a contact session. still waiting to get raped by the spirit of a comely virgin who died before her chance to blossom, but so far no such luck

Re: I'm going to The Stanley
Ooh, I got to spend a night there when I was about 13. It's a pretty cool place to stay, although I didn't experience anything freaky. The pictures we took at that place though, FILLED will orbs and smoke rings!!!!!!!! Your pictures should be chalked full with those things.

Re: I'm going to The Stanley
Have great time GS, I hope you see some Spooks! I stayed in a haunted Hotel in Victoria, BC called the The Fairmont Empress. It reminded me of The Shining. Very Cool

Re: I'm going to The Stanley
We got here today after about an 18 hour trip. That was a lot of driving. Here are a few pics...my camera is really basic, and these aren't great pics.

Here is a pic I did with Swollen's book. I am going to try a few different things, this was just an easy idea.

Re: I'm going to The Stanley
We got back this morning. Long drive straight through again. Had a great time. Did the two nights in 401, and then moved to 217 for two nights. No paranormal experiences to report. We did do some EVP (yes, we're nerds), and used some other equipment (too easy Swollen). Again, I didn't expect to experience anything paranormal, but wanted to try out some things. The Stanley is beautiful.
