Topic: Name shots that famous directors always use in their films.

For instance...I don't know if anyone has noticed that Tarantino usually has one shot of  the actors being filmed from inside of a car trunk.

Reservoir Dogs
Pulp Fiction
Jackie Brown
Kill Bill


Spike Lee likes to always use the tracking board cam as the actors remain still but the set flies by in the background. He uses this method, so far as I can tell, in every movie of his that I have seen and I have seen all but a few.

Dario Argento always uses Architecture and Bright colours in his movies.


Hammer uses the same sets over and over again smile  That four poster bed is in every movie...LOL
And most of them open with a Carriage on a country road.

Bava also loved his colors (did you know he was a painter first?).
Argento and his crane shots. (beautiful one in 'Tenebrae')
Fulci and his eyeball scenes.  (what was it with him and eyeballs?!)
Raimi with his evil POV shots, including the growling noise.
Jean Rollin and his lesbian vampires.  Often great cinematography.
Ed Wood and stock footage lol

Scorsese- POV of driver in a car seeing New York Streets
John Woo- His stupid fucking Dove Shot tongue
Spielberg- Overexposure
Kevin Smith- 2 Shot
Kubrick and PTA- Extremely Long Tracking Shots and PTA has Whip Pans
Demme- Breaking the Fourth Wall but actually talking to another character
Michael Bay- American Flags
Fincher- A walk into focus shot

One genre (not a particular director) is famous for a “Shot”, I believe its called “The money shot”

I dunno if this counts but I love Tim Burton's use of swirls and black and white stripes and odd shapes. I love how everything is cartoon like even in his live action films.

Tarrentino I love his long dialogues.

His name has completely escaped me now but in hot fuzz and Shaun of the dead they both have close up shots of every day activities like the toilet flush and the spreading jam on toast. I love these.
