I'm 1/2 opposite of you- I can't afford to be up-to-date, but I'm always looking for the odd stuff that is a bit older.
There are ways around that Az, though it has gotten more difficult as of late. I like the older odd stuff as well. Deadhorse is usually a pretty good source for that.
Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge
Nice watchlist Alien...Absentia looks interesting.

Nah. I just go on twitter, or chat, or nap. And then the day is over
Yes, twitter is a time suck... I am going to see a friend's band (Mute Union) tonight though

Oh, I know. Just a matter of viewing preference. I have utilized alternative methods when doing Movie Nights. SheSaid is/was pretty good with sources, too, but I haven't seen him around much recently.
Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge
Aliens and DirtyGirl you have some great movies on those watch list, not even seen half of them.

Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge
^Thanks DG, and thanks Bassi. Absentia, was a cool one that I rather enjoyed. Az, I still need to get around to one of those movie nights, and I know what you mean. Sadly, it seems like a lot of sources are going away lately.

Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge
^^ Maybe the distributors will ease up and let Netflix, RedBox, Vudu, etc. get some product quicker. Nah. I think I'm running the next Movie Night on March 30th. 'Dead Alive' aka Braindead, 'Bad Taste,' and 'Meet the Feebles.' Early Peter Jackson night.

Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge
Day 4- Torture Garden 1967- 6/10 Rewatch DVD Not as good as most Amicus Anthologies but Burgess meredith plays a good Dr. Diabolo. The last story is the best one with Jack Palance and Peter Cushing fighting over an Edgar Alan Poe collection...

Feb 24 - Exhibit A (2007) 3.5/5 First watch
Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge
Day 5- The Shrine- 3/10 First and last watch Netflix I think this was the worst movie I have seen this year. Terrible acting and script. Suppose to be a Polish Village but looks like it was filmed in Canada. The villagers are speaking Polish quite often...Hello Subtitles?! The ending is a rip off of several movies...The Exorcist, Evil Dead, and Black Sunday!

Going strong, DG. 2 films in a row I haven't seen. I may end using your list to add to my ever expanding 'to see' list, .
Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge
Just don't add the shrine to your list...bleh!

Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge
I thought The Shrine was decent. I don't think its fair to say it's a rip off...I could say that about nearly every movie I watch if that was the case. Everybody drawls inspiration from somewhere, there is no such thing as a 100% original movie anymore.

hunnypot has been Reported. I'm trying to find something witty to say about a XXX spammer, but mostly it's just pity.
Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge
Day 6- Two good movies today: Vampire Circus - 7/10 Rewatch Bluray One of my favorite Vampire movies from Hammer...A small village is suffering from the plague and a Circus shows up to entertain them. The Circus kills lots of villagers before discovering they are shapeshifters and Vampires. I picked up the Blu Ray set a while ago, but finally watched it today. There is another disc of special features to watch also...

Clive Barker's Book of Blood- 6/10 First Watch DVD Paranormal investigators stay in a haunted house that turns out to be an intersection for the highway of dead souls. The dead start to write their stories on the skin of a young Psychic Man. The movie was a little dull up until the last 30 mins or so. The movie also seemed so dark and dreary... everything seemed to be in shades of grey. The story was very good it just seemed like it wasn't translated well to screen.

I gotta see Vampire Circus...it looks really cool. I was a little disappointed with Book of Blood also, like it was just missing something....but it was okay.

@DG- 2 more for my list, .
Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge
Ooh' I now gotta check out, V C. Thanks, DG! PS: Love the new avatar.
Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge
I am fan of Vampire Circus.. I felt the Books Of Blood would have fared better if the scenes had darker lighting and with better actors. But I did like the story
Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge
I think it's great that someone can do this, i for one don't have the time. DG? Do you own all these or are you renting as well?
Re: DirtyGirl's Horror Movie A Day Challenge
I own most of them. I have a huge collection, some of the newer ones I rent, but I have a great local video store that has an incredible selection of Horror and Scifi.
