Re: summer movie challenge
May 30th - Turistas [2006] - First Watch - 6/10
Pretty much Hostel set in Brazil, give or take. I liked the first Hostel and I liked this almost as much. It's nothing new or original but pretty well done, and the acting wasn't too terrible. It's not an amazing film and the reason I prefer Hostel is because that had more gore and a bit better storyline, but the location and scenery were beautiful here, and the underwater scenes made my skin crawl with claustrophobia in the same way that The Descent did. Overall it was an okay movie, the last third dragged a bit at some points, some scenes were longer than they needed to be and save for a couple of bits, it wasn't particularly gory or graphic, but it pretty much did what it said on the tin. Probably wouldn't rewatch anytime soon, but it was good for 90 or so minutes entertainment.

You might like it i say give it a watch just to see I loved 1408 it is one of my top ten faves It scared me and nothing scares me anymore. I went to the theatre and watched it with my mom and she was freaking out (she doesnt do scary)
Re: summer movie challenge
I'm just about to watch it Vengy My brother doesn't really like scary either and I watched it with him and he absolutely loved it. I enjoyed it, and it was a bit of a mindfuck but I'm just not sure it was that scary I'm gonna do my daily watches differently now. From 1st June I'm gonna do 183 horror movies, so a half year challenge (or try to beat it ), so I'll post like 'Movie 1' 'Movie 2' instead of daily, because some days I watch 3 or 4 films so that makes it better for me.
Re: summer movie challenge

Re: summer movie challenge
June 4th- Theatre Bizarre 3/10 I was honestly disgusted. I loved the Tom Savini directed one. But other than that I didn't think much of it. And the last story grossed me out so bad I may never eat again.
Chronicle 5/10 I didnt like it I hated how it was filmed. had good moments but its not something I would own
Cherry Falls 8/10 I like this movie, the thought of a virgin serial killer I thought was a good one.

Movie 1 April Fools Day [1986] - First Watch - 6.5/10
I'm on a real 80's slashers kick at the moment, and this was an alright one, though it probably won't become one of my favourites. A group of friends get invited out to a mansion on an island on April Fools Day. Cue hijinks and trickery from the friends, and some pretty decent kills throughout. This was probably one of the best acted slashers I've ever seen, the performances all round were stellar pretty much without exception. I enjoyed the storyline and really liked the reveal/twist ending. It was a better than average slasher and I'd definitely watch it again. I'm debating whether to watch the remake or not. I don't want to be disappointed by it and sometimes 80's slashers should be left alone!

Re: summer movie challenge
I'm really intrigued now about Theater Bizarre. Was it mostly just plain dumb, or just too disgusting for your taste? Been wanting to watch "Paper Man." Got the DVD and just haven't made the time. Have a great week end, vengy!!

Awesome stuff, Revenge and HQ. Woman In Black is one I'm looking forward to seeing, as well as Ti West's The Inkeepers. I thought Scream 4 was awesome, too, by the way.

UD, you should definitely give Theatre Bizarre a try. It's one of the better movies I've watched lately and Debbie Rochon is in the segment with Tom Savini. Revenge, I totally agree the last segment was very disgusting!
