Wow. Just watched a show about the Philadelphia Experiment, a zappy weapon, and a Russian project back in the '20s to create an ape-man army.
A scientist sliced up chimps testicles and stuck them into 200 French men. Then made them bang (human) women.
On the other end of the spectrum, he tried to artificially inseminate female chips with "donor" (human) material. Then they exiled the scientist.
After seeing all that, all my monkeys either have spontaneously combusted, are hiding in the bunker, or went back in time to try and correct those events.

Wow, been a while since I posted something new.
There is a chance that CERN (the big ass collider in Europe) may have detected neutrinos going faster than the speed of light.
(I'm going to assume that everyone knows that the speed of light is supposed to be the fastest anything can go)
So CERN has released their findings to the scientific community and asked them to double/triple/etc check everything about the experiment and results, since this would be sort of a big deal if true.
Also turns out that 2 previous experiments in other labs (Fermilab and I forget the other) found similar results, but they were discarded due to not having enough precision in measurements. Also, neutrinos were detected 4 hours before the light from supernova 1987A arrived.
This could be an interesting shake up in the physics community.

Some more news that has promise:
Researchers have discovered a way to "poke holes" into the cholesterol shield that protects the HIV virus from attack by the human immune system. With that shield ruptured, the T-cells can go nuclear on the virus. Don't worry, it's a different type of cholesterol than the ones that are beneficial to humans. It's only in lab stage, but it is a promising start for a potential vaccine and/or cure. As far as I know, this is the first time that the sciencey guys have found a way to attack the virus directly.

More of a tech news article. Some guy claims to have the patents on nearly everything that deals with WiFi (the technology that allows you to connect to networks without wires). And now his company, which consists of him and a bunch of lawyers, and suing all kinds of smaller businesses for "violating his patents." Classic patent troll.

I'm not really into Astrology, though I do love the moon and stars on clear nights. Lately, the sky has been amazing and the stars are really bright. Like to look out and just think about things.

Ran across something that will interest approximately 2 of you out there. Los Alamos just created a 100 Tesla magnetic field. To put that in perspective, Earth's magnetic field is around 25 micro-Teslas.
Check out the funky noise the magnet makes at about 1:30 into the vid when it powers up. I wonder if it could pull a Magneto and rip all of your hemoglobin our of you if you got to close?

Hey, fun news- James Cameron is pulling an 'Abyss' and diving to the bottom of the Mariana Trench. At this point, he should be coming back up if he wasn't eaten by Cthulhu. Interesting because he's the first person to go back since the 1960's, though remote vehicles have visited in the meantime.

^^^ I've always dug that about Cameron. Yeah, he makes some decent (if often over-hyped) flicks but he puts the millions and millions of bucks he makes from them to good use going on this explorations. Dude's a genuine scientist.

I remember watching a docu about Abyss, and all the wacky shit he went through for that. Nifty thing I didn't find out until much later is that the "breathable liquid" thing was true, and everyone called BS on it when the film came out. There's at least one vid on YouTube with a mouse being stuck into it. It's equally horrifying and fascinating at the same time.

Alright, so I'm finally starting to get into quantum physics, thanks to the "What The Bleep Do We Know - Down the Rabbit Hole" movie getting me interested in the subject.
I think the infamous double slit experiment & the Observer Effect is really interesting.
Just by being conscious, you change reality. Just by looking, the photons interact with the electrons and it changes the behavior of the particles (right?).
When you're not looking, they create an interference pattern
When you're looking, they act like regular particles
Superposition, quantum entanglement, and the observer effect makes my mind go nuts when thinking about them.
Being that it's summer, I have a lot of time on my hands. I'm just trying to grasp concepts and learn as much as I can before I have to go back to school in September. Right now I've got about four pages of notes taken down, and I've been watching a lot of YT videos and researching online.
