Topic: Oldschool Television

I realised we don't have a TV section so I feel this thread would be more appropriate in here. Any ways, is anyone here a fan of  old-school television? And I'm talking about 60's/70's shows like Happy Days, MASH, Gilligans Island, Golden Girls, and Batman of course. I've been watching a lot of old school television lately and old school cartoons like Tom and Jerry, Pokemon, and Digimon. Anyone here a fan? Also, the Happy Days theme song is catchy.

Re: Oldschool Television

I've got scooby doo on DVD. Just saying, I love that shit.

Re: Oldschool Television

The Twilight Zone, I have all of them on DVD and it's like my favorite show all time.

Re: Oldschool Television

Talking Tina and the plane episode are classic.

Re: Oldschool Television

Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up is my favorite. so out of nowhere.

Re: Oldschool Television

Voltron was a great cartoon too. My brother was a bigger fan than me though, he had voltron toys and even cried to my Mom because he didn't get the Voltron toy he wanted..good times.

Re: Oldschool Television

Ohh Johnny Bravo! and Dexter's lab

Re: Oldschool Television

And Courage the Cowardly Dog. God I miss that show. Pokemon however was a big part of my childhood, I was a huge Pokemon geek.

Re: Oldschool Television

I was less on Pokemon more on the other cartoons. did play the games htough

Re: Oldschool Television

I remember that Disney show The Wiggles. The purple one creeped me out the most..damn Asians.

Re: Oldschool Television

Courage was a scary show. just absolutely terrifying in some parts.

Re: Oldschool Television

Yeah, I also liked shows like "Ahhh! It's Real Monsters", Hey Arnold, and Rugrats. I also have a funny Hey Arnold pic I'll post in the Gif thread.

Re: Oldschool Television

Oh party hard tripod. Rocko FTW

Re: Oldschool Television

The Big Comfy Couch was awesome but scary too. I think she would make the perfect girlfriend for the Joker, because she scared the crap out of me.

Re: Oldschool Television

of course. damn that's awesome.

Re: Oldschool Television

Anyone remember that show Drake and Josh? God I miss that show, it was awesome.

Re: Oldschool Television

Let's see-
MASH, Cosby Show, some Happy Days, St. Elsewhere with my mom, there are a couple of others I'm forgetting.

Star Blazers is my all-time favorite cartoon.
We're off to outer space
We're leaving Mother Earth
To save the human race
Our Star Blazers

Searching for a distant star
Heading off to Iscandar
Leaving all we love behind
Who knows what danger we'll find?

We must be strong and brave
Our home we've got to save
If we don't in just one year
Mother Earth will disappear

Fighting with the Gamilons
We won't stop until we've won
Then we'll return and when we arrive
The Earth will survive
With our Star Blazers

Still have it memorized, though I tend to screw it up sometimes (I always say "The Earth will disappear" instead of "Mother Earth..."). big_smile
I'm a Nova fan, but Vampy thinks Starsha is hotter.  Nope, not seeing it.

What, you didn't think monkeys could be nerds, too?  lol

Re: Oldschool Television

Used to watch a lot of TV as a kid.  Some of my favorites:

Barney Miller (loved Fish and the little Japanese guy)
Welcome Back, Kotter (Horeshack, baby)
Chico and the Man
Sanford and Son (Redd Foxx -- never saw any of his stand-up but he was one of the funniest sitcom stars I ever saw)
Six Million Dollar Man
The Bionic Woman
M.A.S.H.
Speed Racer
The Electric Company
Starsky and Hutch
Captain Caveman
Scooby Doo
The Carol Burnette Show
Buck Rogers
Battlestar Galactica
The Incredible Hulk
Shazam!
Superfriends
Land of the Lost
The Krofft Superstar Hour
Wonder Woman
Charlie's Angels
The Love Boat
Fantasy Island
Love, American Style
Mary Hartman
Saturday Night Live
Bigfoot and Wildboy

Those are the only ones coming to me at the moment.  I'm sure I'll be back with more.  Oh, and there were a couple imported Japanese shows I loved as a kid.  One featured a family who could turn into robots and when they killed one of their alien enemies they'd melt into blue goop.  I can never remember the name of that damn show, but I loved it back in the day.

Re: Oldschool Television

From back in the day... ah such memories. I used to watch -

The Munsters
The Addams Family
Land of the Lost
The Dukes of Hazard
The Incredible Hulk
Wonder Woman
Batman - Gotta love Adam West
The Muppet Show
Creature Feature hosted by Dr. Paul Bearer (this was on Saturday afternoons. I lived for this. It was my intro to horror. I miss the era of the horror host)

As for cartoons?
Space Ghost
Looney Tunes
The Pink Panther
Hong Kong Phooey
Captain Caveman
Tom and Jerry
Scooby Doo
Thundarr the Barbarian
The Herculoids
Jem
