DirtyGirl’s Top Ten of 2011-

Here is my list of my favorite and most memorable movies that I saw in 2011.

10-Scream 4
A nice addition to the Scream series.  It was fun to see all the characters again and find out what happened to them.

9-Deadheads
A fun road trip with Zombies.  Really funny and sweet about two guys that are Zombies driving across country to see a girlfriend.

8-Juan of the Dead
Another Zom-Com, but the scenery, characters, and political undertones are what make this one different.

7-Kill List
I am not saying this was one of my favorite movies of the year but it stayed with me a long time after I saw it.

6-Stake Land
A different take on the Vampire movie.
http://i854.photobucket.com/albums/ab101/DirtyGirlMovies/Stakeland.jpg

5-The Woman
A movie about a man that finds and captures a feral woman in the woods.  It was Disturbing, Disgusting, Perverse, and Thought Provoking.
http://i854.photobucket.com/albums/ab101/DirtyGirlMovies/TheWoman.jpg

4-Insidious
This one is about a small boy trapped in a nightmare by a demon.  The first time I saw this one, it creeped me out.
http://i854.photobucket.com/albums/ab101/DirtyGirlMovies/Insidious.jpg

3-The Thing
This movie tells us the story of what happened before the John Carpenter movie.  Again, a nice addition to the John Carpenter movie.  I am hoping they will continue with a sequel.

2-Tucker and Dale Vs Evil
Two Good ol’ Boys in a Comedy of Errors.  One of my favorites that I will watch again.
http://i854.photobucket.com/albums/ab101/DirtyGirlMovies/TuckerandDale.jpg

1-Super 8
A young aspiring filmmaker  captures a real monster on camera while filming his Zombie movie.  Loved this movie, the kids were fun to watch.

***At the time of making this list, I haven't seen I Saw The Devil yet.  So I will have to revise later if it is as good as everyone says it is.  ***

Re: Dirtygirl's Top Ten of 2011

Cool list, DG. Lots of movies on it I haven't seen yet, but will try to check out. smile

Re: Dirtygirl's Top Ten of 2011

I just realized I left off Troll Hunter which was a great movie!  So scream 4 gets bumped off!  smile

Re: Dirtygirl's Top Ten of 2011

Good list.  I haven't seen many of them.

Re: Dirtygirl's Top Ten of 2011

Nice list DG!  And I agree, Troll Hunter needs to be on the list.  The only one I have not seen is Juan of the Dead, and given your blessing, I will definitely seek it out now! smile

Re: Dirtygirl's Top Ten of 2011

I haven't seen Kill List, The Woman or Juan of the Dead...really looking forward to The woman though. Glad to see Stakeland on there, the screen shot makes me really wanna see it again! It along with The Thing, T&D vs. Evil and Troll Hunter would definitely make my top ten.

Re: Dirtygirl's Top Ten of 2011

I think it's interesting that Alan Tudyk appears in two movies on your top ten list (Tucker and Dale, Dead Heads).  I've always liked that guy as an actor; too bad he's usually stuck in the background, though he does usually manage to steal every scene he appears in.

Intriguing list, by the way.  I've only seen a few on there.

Re: Dirtygirl's Top Ten of 2011

Nice list, DG. Can hardly wait to see The Woman and Juan of The Dead.

Re: Dirtygirl's Top Ten of 2011

I've only seen Scream 4 & Insidious from you list & i loved both of them, i would add Final Destination 5 to it. smile

I don't think that's him Lon... Deadheads was way too small budget to afford a well known actor smile

Here is the Trailer for it...

Re: Dirtygirl's Top Ten of 2011

I'll be damned.  That sure looks like him in the pic you provided from Dead Heads (the guy in the glasses).

I stand corrected. smile

LOL...  It does look a lot like him smile

Re: Dirtygirl's Top Ten of 2011

Nice list! I've seen a few of these. just got a copy of Deadheads. Kill List and The Woman seem interesting. I'll have to check those out. Tucker and Dale was hilarious btw. Loved that one.

Re: Dirtygirl's Top Ten of 2011

That was good, seen most of those movies on the list!

Re: Dirtygirl's Top Ten of 2011

You see, there were some decent movies in 2011!  The list is missing some good ones though...I Saw The Devil, The Dead, The Loved Ones, Some Guy Who Kills People....

I wonder what the list will look like for this year...  so far my favs are Cabin in the woods,  Innkeepers, REC 3, VHS, and The Divide...

Re: Dirtygirl's Top Ten of 2011

^ Must have missed this post first time round but anyways
How can u miss I Saw The Devil but include the generic The Thing (2011). I respect ur opinion DG but i cannot disagree more. I would give The Thing at most a 5/10 and I Saw The Devil a 10/10. Id replace either Kill List or Insidious with Hobo and a Shotgun aswell. Kudos for mentioning Stakeland though. I loved that movie. Heres my top 10 of 2011 films i saw.

1. I Saw The Devil
2. Hobo
3. Stakeland
4. The Woman
5. Grave Encounters
6. Red State
7. Scream 4
8. TrollHunter
9. We Are The Night
10. Tucker and Dale vs Evil.

Read the last comment Vasquez, it's because I hadn't seen yet at the time smile and yes I saw the devil was excellent.  I think I rated it 9/10.

Is it wrong that I find this hot?  I get the same feeling from the chick's butt on the I Spit On Your Grave poster.

I think there's something wrong with me.
