Re: V/H/S (found-footage movie)

I know it's on-demand to watch now and there is torrents of it online too, but I am waiting for the DVD release. I think it looks very interesting though.

Re: V/H/S (found-footage movie)

I liked VHS, but it seemed a little overrated to me.  I liked the first segment the most.
We discussed this movie quite a bit on the found footage thread.

Check it out here....

U got ur info a bit wrong there flamethrower. Ti West is just one of the directors of the anthology (and coincidentally I found his segment to be one of the weaker ones). Here are all of them. My 2 favourites when I watched it were David Bruckner's segment 'Amatuer Night' (N2 fav) and the closing story '10/31/98' (N1 fav). Overall I gave it a 7/10 as I feel there were 2 many weak segments detracting from the whole piece.

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin     (as Radio Silence)
David Bruckner
Tyler Gillett          (as Radio Silence)
Justin Martinez          (as Radio Silence)
Glenn McQuaid
Radio Silence
Joe Swanberg
Chad Villella          (as Radio Silence)
Ti West
Adam Wingard

Re: V/H/S (found-footage movie)

If u can say 1 positive thing about V/H/S, at least its a original idea. A Found Footage anthology. Doesn't quite live up to the heights of stuff like Black Sabbath though no matter how any of the directors wanted it to - as i heard one of them desire so at Frightfest.

Re: V/H/S (found-footage movie)

Yea I thought this flick was WAY overrated.. It had a couple good segments but for the most part it wasn't that good.. Maybe a 6/10..

Re: V/H/S (found-footage movie)

How are you all seeing this?  I haven't found it, though I haven't looked in a few weeks.

Re: V/H/S (found-footage movie)

It's on VOD..

Re: V/H/S (found-footage movie)

I've seen it.  The wrap around story is a bit strained, especially the first 10-15 minutes.  They could have used those 10 minutes to lengthen some of the other sections just a bit and made them better.  Overall, I liked it, but like HG said, a tad overhyped.  Worth a watch.

I'll go 7/10.

Re: V/H/S (found-footage movie)

I wrote about this in the FF Thread.  I really enjoyed this one, and it was definitely one of the best FF movies I've seen.  Actually got kinda freaked out at a few parts.

Surprised that most others didn't like it...but each their own.  For me it wasn't over hyped cuz I never even heard of it outside of here...and the reviews here weren't that great.

The part with the kids in the woods was kinda weak (not horrible though, just seemed outta place).  However, the one towards the end with the dudes at the party was awesome, and the one with the chick who thought her apartment was haunted (in the end it fell kinda flat) had some freaky parts!

Re: V/H/S (found-footage movie)

I love horror anthologies, so I'll definitely give this flick a shot. There's been too few in the last decade or so. Found footage flicks are hit and miss for me, I really need to be in the mood to enjoy them. The idea of multiple shorts in the vein is definitely more appealing though.

Re: V/H/S (found-footage movie)

I liked this. The first and last tapes were awesome and pretty damn creepy. They had good vibes, wish I could say the same about the tapes in between. Not that they were bad, per se, but they did drag on and were less compelling. I'd give it a 7.5/10.

Re: V/H/S (found-footage movie)

I really quite enjoyed this. The first segment was obviously the best one but I did have a good time watching this. I gave it a 7 or 8 at the time.
