28 Days Later Shivers (1975) v Eaten Alive aka Death Trap
Re: The X vs X Horror Game
Shivers, by a wide margin (though I prefer its original title, "They Came From Within"). The Midnight Meat Train vs The Hills Have Eyes '06
Re: The X vs X Horror Game
Hmmm tough one Hill Have Eyes JUST wins it. MMT is a very impressive, and one could argue unfairly underrated flick however. White Zombie v Serpent and The Rainbow.

The Serpent and the Rainbow. I have a lot of respect for White Zombie, because it's the first film of its kind, but when it comes down to the film I enjoy sitting down and watching more, it's hands down Serpent. Night of the Demons vs VAMP

Piranha Suspiria vs. Tenebrae
Re: The X vs X Horror Game
Tenenbrae. Could never get into Suspiria. Im all for atmosphere, but when the visuals are the ONLY thing going for a film, ignoring pacing for example then it doesn't deserve to be called a masterpiece. THe Night Child v Christmas Evil

Wat a sec - you're not actually looking for cognition or meaning within an Argento horror are you? If so you're barking up the wrong tree haha!!! I'm a massive fanboy of Suspiria but we all have different views so it's all good! Christmas Evil Fatal Attraction vs. Se7en

Heres the thing i enjoyed Tenenbrae quite a bit but after a tremendous opening 20 minutes got VERY bored with Suspiria. I prefer Bava over Argento for the fact he can come up with some amazing visuals but combined with a cognitive in more of his films.
Re: The X vs X Horror Game
^ Agreed, the opening twenty minutes of Suspiria is among the finest intro's in horror history. Even the airport door opening is presented with a whoosh and a palpable sense of dread. I could go on but I'm half cut lol!!! My personal fave is Opera, it's absolute stylised nonsense with amazing murder set pieces, the slo-mo bullet through the spyglass through the eye through the phone is breathtaking..
