Don't poopoo Quarantine too hard. [REC] is easily in my top 5 fave flicks of all time (any genre), and honestly, while Quarantine didn't have the atmosphere or sense of foreboding like the original, but on it's own, it was a very solid flick.

It took a few viewings to really get into [REC]2, but I think it's awesome. Even the "twist" to the origin/meaning of the reason behind the craziness makes sense. Initially I wasn't crazy about it, but it works.

[REC]3 is great, but don't think it's just another [REC] flick, cause while it is, it isn't at the same time. It starts off in the FF genre, and they end up getting too tricky with multiple cameras and after about 20min it goes full on traditional cinema style. Initially I was "Aww man!!", but once it gets rolling, it works and you just go with it.

Looking forward to 4... whenever that happens to show up in any form.

Death of a Ghost Hunter (2007)

was really decent, If you can get past the really bad acting!

^Yeah the acting was pretty bad, but overall, it was a decent flick.

^I actually liked that one quite a bit.  Not the best FF piece but I thought it was pretty well done.  I especially liked the way that they distributed the film themselves, allowing people to download it for free, that was a cool idea.

Subconscious - Director's Cut (2010) - An interesting Greek FF flick.  Not particularly creepy or scary, but at least they tried to do something different.

I thought Home Movie was horrible, it's just so all over the place and never finds its footing.

But that's just me!

I've been dying to see Home Movie.  It looks really interesting.  I just watched Evidence (2011) and I'll probably write a review about it, but it was just a really nutty film.

What is this based on?  What do you consider it?

I finally saw [REC] not that long ago. And I have to agree with most in here that it is one of the best FFFs. I like it in these type of movies when the cameraman is a professional or semi-professional, like in Diary of the Dead. Too much shaking of camera really annoys me and I think detracts from the movie. Cloverfield was especially bad for that. The story was good and it had likeable and believable characters, a trait sorely lacking in many newer horror movies.

The Poughkeepsie Tapes definitely chilled me, I watched it whilst laying on the floor at 2:30 in the morning randomly...I laid there in horror after the movie and had to google to double check that it really was fake. I knew that it was by the way it was made and all of the "specialists" talking but...I wasn't too sure. I was sleeping next to a closet on the floor before I moved! Definitely one of my favorites.
