Re: Last horror movie you watched?

Strangeland - one of my favorite 90's horror films and a definite inspiration to the " torture porn " flicks that we have today. 8/10

War Games -  not really a horror film but close enough. You just gotta love killer computers. 8/10

I was really looking forward to the possession, but it wasn't nearly as good as I hoped.  I'd give it a 6/10.  Love the whole based on a true story thing, lol, made me laugh

Re: Last horror movie you watched?

Hatchet (re-watch) 8/10.

I think it's a blast of a slasher movie. Very funny, very gorey, and (for the most part) a neat cast of actors.

^^Speaking of bigfoot films, has anyone seen The Legend of Boggy Creek? I'm interested in this film and I would like some opinions about it.

Very low budget, very cheap, but it has its moments.  Not a lot of Bigfoot action (you only see him for brief moments, and mostly in the dark) but still kinda creepy.  From Charles B. Pierce, who later directed The Town That Dreaded Sundown.

Re: Last horror movie you watched?

Ah, thank you Lon. I wanted that to be my first bigfoot movie, but a movie called Savage took that away from me. It's cheap on Amazon, so I'll keep an eye out.

The Town that Dreaded Sundown is on DVD right? I swear that I'm only seeing the bluray version.

Re: Last horror movie you watched?

Gonna check out Exit Humanity. Sounds interesting, a zombie apocalypse during the 1800s.

Re: Last horror movie you watched?

BloodRayne - Decided to watch it after playing the game. I should have known better. It's a total disaster. Terrible acting, the set pieces and the costumes look like something from a high school drama department and the jail bar sex scene is easily the worst sex scene in the history of horror. The only good thing about the movie was Olaf Ittenbach's gore effects. 3/10

Re: Last horror movie you watched?

^^Tsk, tsk Suspiria.

Re: Last horror movie you watched?

Almost done with Exit Humanity. I don't want to say it drags, but it's taking its time with the story. Still interested though.

@Hypno-
Legend of Boggy Creek on YouTube.  I agree with Lon, not the greatest, but it does have some moments.  There's also Return to Boggy Creek on YouTube.  Not so great.  And believe it or not, there was Boggy Creek 2: The Legend Continues, which is the 3rd movie, but hey, 2 or 3, no biggie, right?  lol

Re: Last horror movie you watched?

Eh, I'm only interested in the original. Thanks Az.

Death of a Ghost Hunter (2007)

Here was another Found footage movies. I have seen half of the movie before as it cameo on little late few years ago, I could not get into at time.

Now that I was in Mood to watch Found footage movie, i thought this was really good.

I found that the movie flowed really well and I didn't get bored at all, thinking the movie was bit too long at times there were some good decent creepy moment in this movie that I really liked.

Also really liked effects in this movie was very good and knew that twist that coming, I loved the back story of the movie was really good.

The only thing that really lets the movie down is Abysmal acting from the whole cast, if you can get past that , it might enjoy the rest of the movie.

5/10

MAMA (2008) short

Just under 2 minutes and it was really well made, really creepy times, the Mama did look creepy, Good effect for really fast short ending was good,

Mama (2013)

Know this was going to be PG 13, i was afraid this would be this year The Women in Black PG 13 bore-fest, However this as put my faith back into PG 13 Movies.

As I found this more enjoyable then The Women in black and sinister put together and this movie but PA series to shame,

I thought this had some reallly good Jumpy scare in this movie I did Jump really early in the movie, this dose have some really good intense though tout the movie.

The movie flowed really well and it never once got boring at all and no scenes drag longer then should,

This movie did have some flaws here and there but they don't to much impact on the movie, I also did like effect of the of MAMA as you get a little to often, she dose not seem as scary as the movie goes.

I did find the MAMA bit more creepy in the short, she kinda of Ju-on-the Grudge Ghost and I wasn't really to keen on Soppy ending was not need at all, that part really left the movie down, While i felt really sad and I some people will find that very tearing.

For A PG 13 movie I thought was really good AS i did not expect to Jump at all in this movie and seen plenty of horror movies, (If was higher rated, i would have gave it lower score)

Re: Last horror movie you watched?

I don't understand this mentality about PG-13 horror films. You should be concerned about whether or not the material is good, not dictating "PG-13? Garbage. Gimme blood" that I've been seeing on multiple horror sites. If you don't want to watch a PG-13 horror film then stick with indie films since they're either R-rated or unrated.

Female vampire (1973): A female vampire drains her victims of their blood while sexually seducing them.

The female vampire is more of a succubus, than vampire.  The story is kind of bland, but the women are at least good looking.

This movie has more explicit nudity than any other horror move I can think of. It was more like a soft porn, than a horror movie. Jess Franco directed it, so go figure.

Re: Last horror movie you watched?

Event Horizon (1997) It has been awhile since I last watched it, still a great flick.

Stitches (2012) - A clown returns from the dead to seek revenge on the children responsible for his death at a birthday party.  It is campy but it doesn't take itself too seriously, so it ends up being a really fun movie.  3.5/5.

Bad Meat (2011) - As if being stuck at a boot camp run by mean spirited couselors wasn't bad enough, a group of juvenile delinquints find themsleves battling for their lives when bad meat in the stew turns the couselors into flesh eating zombies.  This one unfortunately took itself too seriousl.  There is some nice grue, but the ending makes no sense and one of the young ladies just vanishes with no explanation.  2/5.

Sweet Movie (1974) - Not really a horror movie, but damn if it wasn't one of the strangest movies I have ever seen!  A golden shower from a gold penis, lots of nudity, defacation, urine and vomit games, just bizarre.  2.5/5.

Re: Last horror movie you watched?

Sinister - Enjoyed it while I was watching it - but in hindsight there were plenty of irksome choices.. Didn't quite live up to the hardhitting opening sequence and left me feeling very little at the end. Some fantastic moments and ideas in there but also plenty of silly ones. 6.5/10

Re: Last horror movie you watched?

I saw Mama tonight.  I wasn't expecting much since the last film Del Torro had anything to do with was kind of cheesy...But I thought Mama was pretty good!  Really spooky.  And movies about weird/evil children always seem to be a bit freakier...no?

Re: Last horror movie you watched?

I just watched The Midnight Meat Train. I gotta say it was a rather enjoyable movie. Nothing totally mind blowing, but a good story, and some decent gore. I like how the main character slowly becomes more unhinged and it also had a pretty satisfying ending. Vinnie Jones plays an awesome serial killer. It came with a few cool interviews with Clive Barker too as bonus material.

Re: Last horror movie you watched?

Been getting some real duds lately. Stephen Moyer better stick to True Blood. The couple of films I've seen him in his acting is so dreadful and here is no exception. I should have known the Barrens would be crap when during the opening credits a country duo is singing about the devil on a back road or some such crap. And what was it some sort of flying strange long nosed pig? LOL! Ugh. Waste of time.

Citadel
The story was pretty weak but the idea was good and creepy and who doesn't love blind, ravenous, murdering children! Aneurin Barnard as Tommy did a fantastic job portraying an agoraphobic father teams up with a renegade priest to save his daughter from the clutches of a gang of twisted feral children.

6/10 for at least being different and not a remake or found footage film

What did you think about the very striking visual style. I thought it looked like one of the best horror movies, visually wise I have seen from the 2000's. In fact i think it is a bit of a overlooked gem, albiet not perfect one in my opinion.

Wow this has become one of my classics. I love Norway Horror and this one is certainly the best I've seen, even liked it more than Thale which is my favorite so yeah, amazing movie.
Feels a LOT like Polanski but it doesn't go against this one, quite the oposite. Pretty damn great acting, was cool to see Millenium's Michael Nyqvist once more, he ROCKS!!! And the other ones were rad too especially Julia Schacht.
Yup, deserves my top note, a good ol' 666.666.666/10

Exit Humanity

Applaudable effort in creating a new zombie story. The pacing is a killer though. Still  a good movie. 7/10
