Topic: The Justice League of America (20??)

It's going to happen sooner or later, and when it does I hope it's pulled off right and has the same epic scope as Avengers with all these superheroes colliding and whatnot. With Batman and Superman getting another reboot too I can only hope these are done right too so they can tie in with the proposed Justice League movie. Anyways discuss.

Re: The Justice League of America (20??)

I wouldn't mind it, but I think Warner Bros has a lot of work to do first.  Like Marvel, they need to establish their heroes in solo films first.  The average movie-goer isn't going to watch a movie about a bunch of superheroes they don't know.  Batman, Superman and Green Lantern  may already have been established in film (well, maybe not GL -- not a lot of people saw that flick lol ) but what about Martian Manhunter, or Flash, or Hawkman, or Wonder Woman, or Aquaman?

No, they need to have their own solo films first, get people invested in these characters and want to see them all come together.  Otherwise a JL flick will be just another empty, big-budget bomb.

Re: The Justice League of America (20??)

I'm hoping this will eventually be green lit, but not before (as stated) the other lesser known characters have a chance to be show cased.

Ohhhh...how I wanna see a Wonder Woman film! Not just because she's so hot looking in the comics,  I'm a fan of the character too.

Re: The Justice League of America (20??)

I think an Aquaman film would be the least of my interest. Let's face it, he wears bright flashy colors and his powers aren't really interesting but unless they can pull off a well adapted Aquaman then I'm sold. Cary Elwes is also my first choice to play Aquaman, so I hope he gets the part.

Re: The Justice League of America (20??)

^^^ Aquaman's a bit of a chump character, sure, but recently when DC rebooted fifty two old titles (calling them the "New 52") Aquaman got an injection of major coolness and is now one of the better DC titles going at the moment.  He's a lot more powerful physically (stronger, bullet-proof) and they're downplaying the whole "talks to fish" thing.  He's actually more of a heavy hitter now, along the lines of Namor the Submariner -- still strong as hell on land but his strength wanes the longer he's out of the water.

Anyhoo, personally I love Carey Elwes but I think he's a bit too old and paunchy now to pull this one off.  They'll do like they did with Superman and Green Lantern (and Thor and Captain America) and get a younger, 20- or 30-something actor to play him.  They were actually in the process of filming a new Wonder Woman TV pilot but the network decided they weren't going to pick it up before they'd even finished filming.  It starred an actress named Adrianne Palicki, and as you can see here...

...it left a lot to be desired. lol

Re: The Justice League of America (20??)

You know Cary Elwes was supposed to star in the proposed Wonder Woman tv series too? I would have liked to see that pick up, but I'm fine with the Green Arrow tv series on CW because at least it's giving limelight to DC and the characters it has to offer.  Another thing I'd also like to see in the Justice League movie is how Batman/Bruce Wayne will fit in with the rest of the superheroes as he doesn't have any super-powers and what it will be like to be the only one with super-powers. I think that this movie has great potential, even though it leaves a few questions.

Re: The Justice League of America (20??)

Won't superman kill everything? Just laser eye all the enemies lol

Re: The Justice League of America (20??)

I dont know if they will be able to pull it off.  As much as I am a Batman and DCU guy, I just dont think they will be able to put the characters together good enough to make it work.  I dont think they'll be able to establish Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Cyborg, Captain Marvel (Or Shazam if you's like), etc.  Plus I dont think they will ever be able to establish Green Lantern or Wonder Woman even if they try and reboot either property.  I honestly think the best character they have lef that might be able to make a decent movie is The Flash, but that could really terrible if done the wrong way with his speed

Outside of Justice League characters, if they get the right Director, I'd love to see an Animal Man movie.  Could be dark & gritty as hell
