Re: Poetic Corner (for the Artist in us)

She is always at my side
Watching every move, every step
she whispers to me all the time
" I wait my time, but i will have you never doubt"
" Never make the mistake i won't, may be today, may be tomorrow, a week, a month, a year, many years"
"Let me touch you with a icy hand or a warm touch if you prefer"
" let me brush your face lightly with my blonde hair"
"Let me kiss you passionately or softly, whatever you wish"
"It will give you a taste of what is to come"
" I am always at your side,biding my time"
" Waiting for a mistake,a slip, a word out of place, being at the wrong place at the wrong time."
"I wait for that which my brother Fate decides"
"For i am your angel of death, and i wait patiently to take you in my arms and embrace you and sing you to eternal rest".

Re: Poetic Corner (for the Artist in us)

Ah fair night
With a moon so bright
Such a pretty sight
As an apple I bite
A creature comes to fight
With all its blight
I ask "Do you want a fight"
It replies "Fear my might"
I laugh at this slight
And lay it low with the monkey's bite.

Re: Poetic Corner (for the Artist in us)

You guys write great stuff.
Yeah, each one of you does.

Re: Poetic Corner (for the Artist in us)

Monster

I dont know when it happened, When I looked in your eyes and saw a stranger for the first time.
When every word that came out of your mouth became a lie or even hearing your voice made me sick. When sisters forever became strangers with memories. But I know I can't go back to the way things were. I don't know when I stopped missing you or when I stopped believing you when you told me you loved me. When I could be sitting in the same room with you and still feel so alone. When I stopped trusting you or stopped telling you things or even wanting to. I will be the first to admit I.m not sure who changed maybe I grew up. or you did.  Or maybe i finally opened my eyes and saw you for what you really are.

Re: Poetic Corner (for the Artist in us)

Sunday Morning
~~~~~
Sunday, Lazy Morning
Snow sits, birds quiet
Trees motionless in tired wind, windows shining
Beds a mess, sheets twisted and bundled in heaps
Crumbs on hardwood floor, murky alcohol left in dirty glasses
Tiny bits of marijuana on the kitchen table
Friends upstairs in closed quarters have a quickie
Traces of mindless rambunction left upon the stairwell
A full sink with a thousand dishes and a few spoons on the floor
Coffee mugs with cute cuddly kittens on them
Sticky substance on the couch
The TV stuck on Sunday Service
Loud moaning, fingers grimy with garbage
Jokes about anal sex and dicks and emos
Bitten by the hair of the dog with
nothing left to fuel the desperation
The damn cat took a shit in the laundry basket again.
Red robes & wild hair & empty stares
Profound assault and battery to the hollow eyes
and with tiny bits of sleep.
Would you like a toast or a bagel?
Scrambled eggs or cinnamon bread?
A philly cheese steak hot pocket?
Where are the extra garbage bags?
Who ate all the bread?
Why is the rum bottle empty? We were saving this.
Popcorn kernels lay deserted on dirty tile
Jackets and gloves strewn off to one side of the chair
Cars parked in the icy driveway, sitting, sleeping
In a trance of sickened hangover and afternoon fog
Bagel! Bagel! What do you want on your bagel?
Oh my god, pick up this mess, mess, mess.
"Do you have a free piece of paper around?"
Asks the poet, "And have you got a pen?"
I like this, Wolfie. I see it as a wistful longing for death, in this case embodied as a dark, sexy woman (succubus?).
I'm jammin' like a frog
Eatin' my hot dog
Rockin' the 'billies
Wrecking the wall
Gonna take a fall
Can't deny
Monkey in charge
And livin' large
[piss on the amps til they're all on fire]
Good night Toledo!
Re: Poetic Corner (for the Artist in us)
Loving all the great stuff in here so I thought I'd join in the fun! Here's one I wrote a couple of years back. It helps if you hear it read in a creepy kid voice ha.
The Sorrow Bird
If you should hear a mournful song
A tune that makes your skin feel wrong
The melancholy wail you heard
Most likely was the Sorrow Bird
Though to all else the room is still
It spins round you with hollow trill
And burns inside your brain and ears
The sum of all unspoken fears
The Sorrow Bird it rare is seen
Its feathers black, its face serene
It stares right through you to your soul
With empty eyes of coldest coal
It empties you of all your breath
And turns your living into death
For if the Sorrow Bird should show
So comes the hour to slip below
Re: Poetic Corner (for the Artist in us)
Very nice and lyrical!
Here's a couple of song lyrics I had written for my old band years ago:
The Darkness:
I am the Darkness
I am the king of swing
I am Evil
I make your souls sing
In the darkness
Time stands still
Hot sweat drips
'Til you've had your fill
I am the Darkness
In your souls
You think you can get away
With things untold
Under cloak of night
We begin to sin
Cause in the darkness
I'll always win!
The Preacher:
Happiness I'll never find
They say it's some place in the mind
But with thoughts as sick as these
My mind will never be at ease
When I look into your eyes
It makes it so easy to lie
Now every word I say
Just turn your head the other way
When i look up to the sky
All I see is God's baleful eye
I don't see the stars above
It's all about one god's love
Here I sit alone again
With my bible in my hand
And every child I see
I want part of my fantasies
Mostly they were set to slow Sabbathy type music.
Nice Theli - I especially like the flow of the second one. I make music myself too so my writing often ends up reading quite lyrical smile
Very cool ones Theli and LordofTears.
Loving them, nice flow of words that let me swim into them pleasantly. smile
Re: Poetic Corner (for the Artist in us)
Face Your Fears
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Grab hold of your fears with a Death Trip...
Steal the Hollow Snakes and wrap them 'round your legs
Set your feet upon the cold, hard stone of luminous graveyards
Feel the lions writhe in your soul
Feed the Will & Know that you are not alone

Face Yourself...
Ground Yourself...
Reach inside
And Die.

Face Your Fears
Let go of all that you hold dear
Your destiny is malleable, so
See your shadow & let yourself go

Make love to the Angel of Death
Speak to your demons & the darkness you keep at bay
Let your ego merge with the Shadow Man
You will find yourself
By the acceptance of his cold, frail hand

Let the sun rise to meet another day
Take it as it comes & don't look the other way
Face your demons, Face your fears
Face your Shadow, Face your tears

Know that all this Evil is your own Inner Workings
Projecting into all conscious action
Behold the power & Release the smoldering Anger
Positive externalities will turn the inner tides outward
Embrace the fear inside
To bring forth the love that refuses to die
You are stardust, now Realize

You are one now, &
You are Alive.

Re: Poetic Corner (for the Artist in us)

Smiles

A smile to hide secrets
Under long sleeves
Covering pretty bracelets
Over red gashes
On pale white wrists.
She hides the pain
Etched into her arms
Sewn into her eyes
Shattering her heart.
Behind a smile
No one questions
No one sees
Because of a smile

Re: Poetic Corner (for the Artist in us)

VERY nice miss.

This one is dedicated to my future girlfriend wherever you may be.

I love you.

----------------

Alone with you

Alone I'm walking in a sinister sea of Darkness.
Strange sounds suround me and things are moving everywhere.
I smell your perfume, that unforgetable one.
But I see you nowhere else than in my mind.
Things that I can't wordize grab me.
Heart's speed increases.
But alone I'm still walking.
Alone surounded by all of you.
All your million of emotions.
All you million of looks.
All your million faces.
Those things I can't wordize attacking me.
But I'm alone, you're nowhere to be found hiding in that Blackened sea.
You the one I love.
I'm alone with you.
In my veins and brains.

Re: Poetic Corner (for the Artist in us)

I'm going to replace mine with a different version in proper poem form:

Sarah's Storm, heiress born
careful how her hair is worn
carrying a parasol
terraform, air is warm
riding the fair's Ferris wheel
an heiress with no inheritance
incoherent, arrogant
favorite gum is cherry mint
fills our hearts with merriment
changeless, catching angelfish
swearing out a plagiarist
to her, no one can hold a candle
from stockroom up to management
from Kansas to Los Angeles

Wow that is really nice. She's lucky to have you. Or you're lucky to have her, whichever.

I dig the frozen rose thing.

Well done!!! ClapClapClap!!!

Re: Poetic Corner (for the Artist in us)

Thanks. I changed my poem so it actually looks like a poem instead of a disjointed short story. It fits in better with this thread now, I think. The first version was like confusing flash fiction. The new version rhymes.

Yeah that is a very interesting little piece, I like art that fits outside the box, keep it up.

Re: Poetic Corner (for the Artist in us)

Thanks dude. I changed it to a rhyming poem - fits in better with the spirit of this thread, I think. I liked your poems too, Theli and kXnPunk, good stuff. It seems like there are a lot of cool, creative people on this site.
