It bugs me to no end that The Keep is not available on DVD, and that there is supposedly 30 extra minutes of film not released.

Check out The Borrower.  Its copyright date is 1989, but it was not released until 1991.

I just bought that one and The Keep on VHS.  smile

It is a fun one Mary.  Hard to believe that it was John McNaughton's next film after Henry Portrait of a Serial Killer.

Az, I totally agree.  A Director's Cut should have been released eons ago.

Re: From Beyond and other weird old 1980s horror movies

Have you tried Society(1989) by Yuzna? Not a great movie, but pretty crazy out-there with some neat effects.

And I thought John Dies At The End felt a bit like old school 80's horror(probably because it was Coscarelli).

Re: From Beyond and other weird old 1980s horror movies

Society the same weird disturbing movie where a guy finds out he's part of this family at some mansion where everyone is like fusing with other people's skin and eating the fat out of other people?

Kind of like the ending of Slither where Grant Grant is a big tentacled alien monster and some of the townspeople that are naked and they're fusing to  Grant's body?

After reading further it sounds like they are burned copy's.

Most likely, since I don't think there was ever an official DVD release.  The artwork looks rather nice though.

^To my knowledge Az, there never was a DVD release of the movie.
