I did a lot of scouring on craigslist to try to find like minded musicians in my area. And also headed to open jam sessions. It is hard finding musicians. But persistence pays off.

This is me at the gig the other day:

Anytime I wear a lei, I play better. Anytime there is a hot hula girl next to me I play better. Anytime my bandmate plays a Uke, I play better.

Hahahaha What a cool pict.
I'd play better too with a hula girl next to me. Not sure about the Dinosaur though. lol

Re: The HM Musicians' Thread

That is a beautiful spray paint on canvas. Wow.

Almost finished a new song and lemme tell you it's freaking Hardcore. A kinda mix between melodic Punk and Black Metal. Still need to come up with lyrics though. I'll do this after I finish all the instruments.
The drumming is only my Zippo clicking at various pitch levels. And kicks on a can with a knife. Yeah, the crazier, the better.

Found a very nice sound for my distortion pedal which makes it extremely garage so I just LOVE it. And the bass track I got out, I'm extremely proud of.

Hopefully I'll finish it soon.

Re: The HM Musicians' Thread

i started playing drums are 17.....when i finally had the money to get my first set, haha.....but it came natural to me....i tried guitar but i couldnt latch onto it..know a few chords here and there...bar chords too, of course...but i was always the kid playing drums with my hands on shit and rhythm just made sense to me....after my first 6 months of playing i tried out for the band im in now, and the guitarist was weary about having me....but hte singer wanted to give me a chance.....its been 9-10 years so far in the same band, and the guitarist has told me hes soooo glad he kept me.....practice practice practice...

Re: The HM Musicians' Thread

Started bass at 16.
Riffing Pounding Rhythms is my thing.
Don't care for twisted fingers positions of guiitar. Or Drum sticks, bowls and pedals. But they're always been essential.
Like in this song from my 4 years touring in France lil' cool as H3LL band. Bass driving and singing = me myself & Evil I.

Re: The HM Musicians' Thread

Me and some friends got together for a full week retreat with the wives and kids and brought along some gear.  Guitar, Bass and E-Drums.  We fleshed out 3 tracks that I'm still adding to right now.  Some cool Whiskey drenched hard rock.  Hoping to put a demo together by year's end.

Re: The HM Musicians' Thread

Glad this thread was revived. I'm gonna start rapping soon and releasing mixtapes and I've found some cool beats I can rap to. Yeah I know rap these days is about sex, money, drugs, but mine won't be about that and will talk about life experiences and political themes.

Re: The HM Musicians' Thread

more power to ya, Tri...I think you'd have some fresh rhymes.

Re: The HM Musicians' Thread

Yeah, you've got cool lines Triprapod. big_smile

Re: The HM Musicians' Thread

Man I can't freaking believe it. Got 17 new fans on my ReverbNation page in a week. WHAT??? That's a whole damn lot really. I'm amazed that so many people like my Weird, Crazy, Evil Punk Industrial stuff. I just can't believe it.

But I'm still glad. Of course hey. lol

New Stomp Box:  Walrus Audio Iron Horse...been using it constantly through all my amps...don,t know what I'm going to do with my other fuzz pedal...dammit.

Re: The HM Musicians' Thread

Iron Horse, I like the name very much.
Plug your fuzz into the set you've got and adjust it differently. That's what I'd do. big_smile

Got another freaking Weird Crazy Mad Evil Industrial Punk Blast song out. Sick really. I'm definitely disturbed. lol

Re: The HM Musicians' Thread

Been tabbing out a bunch of songs on bass to submit to ultimate-guitar.com.  Submitted four since last night and there are three or four more I plan on submitting.  UG's a great resource for new guitar players but they are shamefully short on bass tabs.

Re: The HM Musicians' Thread

I agree with that Lon...my bassist uses the site a lot and that's what he always says.

@kXnPunk  you are one wacky mad Genius...I dig it, though..  I do use some pretty crazy stacked fuzz tones and feedback from time to time....a lot like Kurt Ballou from converge...but I have to use it sparingly...trop c'est comme pas assez.

Re: The HM Musicians' Thread

^^^
Hahaha thanks man. But trop n'est JAMAIS assez for me that is.

Working on a Dark Sinister Remake version now where the drums will fit better, I'll just use the metal slams and not the plastic box one and adjust the tempo.

Should be better. Like most remakes are to me. That's why I call it Remake... lol
