She's 13. But as she is Dead, the ages don't count. big_smile

Vasquez, OF COURSE I WILL. I'm a real fan of the cool Saoirse, she's always fantastic. And it's the last time we'll see my incredible Jodie Foster in a movie. That is her last one before she retired.

Retired? Jodie Foster hasn't retired and I haven't heard news of her retiring anytime soon. Where did you hear that from? Just curious, I'm a big Jodie Foster fan and that kind of alarmed me for a second.

^ Those are the kind of vamp movies I like, Myers. I need to get into some of the classics because for as many of these movies that there are, I enjoy very little of them - kind of like how zombie movies are oversaturated but 95% of them are crap.

Re: Vampire Lovers Raise Your Hands

I still need to see the full, complete Salem's Lot TV mini-series.
I've only seen "Salem's Lot: The Movie" which was a VHS release of only 1 hour and 51 minutes. I've long loved "Salem's Lot: The Movie", but was not aware that the actual mini-series ran over 3 hours until sometime late last year. lol
So now I gotta see the entire shebang! I looked for a full mini-series copy on Amazon and came up with a movie costing over $50 brand new! I have a difficult time paying $20 for a movie, never mind $50. I may dig Salem's Lot quite a bit, but I don't dig it THAT much.

Re: Vampire Lovers Raise Your Hands

Following up on my post about not seeing the full Salem's Lot mini-series, I just finished watching it today. I found it online, which is awesome. I'll just quote my post from the "last horror movie" thread:

Salem's Lot ('79 TV Mini-series, In Full) - 8/10
I've only ever seen Salem's Lot: The Movie, a VHS theatrical release that had a running time of only 1 hour and 50 some minutes. So it was a treat getting to see an entire hour of footage I haven't yet seen. That said, I actually prefer Salem's Lot: The Movie over watching the entire mini-series. 3 hours is lot of time. I guess I just like my films to be around normal movie length. Plus, with "The Movie", you get all of the best scenes of the series edited together, leaving no room for "filler scenes", which I will argue the mini-series has. Still, it is a great series. I sat through 2 hours, took a nap, and finished off the last hour when I awoke. Tobe Hooper expertly creates a super-creepy atmosphere. The Marsten House just looks fantastic.

Oh, and I noticed some close similarities between Mr. Barlow (James Mason) in Salem's Lot and Leland Gaunt (brilliantly played by Max von Sydow) in Needful Things. Both are adaptions of Stephen King novels, so I'm sure the similarities are no coincidence. For example:

Mr. Barlow and Leland are both super-strong, inhuman creatures disguised in human form.
They're both articulate, intelligent, and British "gentlemen" types.
They both visit small towns, scheming to take them over for their own evil doings.

They're pretty much one in the same characters, except one is Satan, and the other is something else.

A very ineteresting take on this great movie my man.
But yes I agree about the similarities.
