It's been a long time since I've read any King, and I was beginning to miss the guy.

I wasn't really a fan of this one.

I enjoyed it quite a bit but thought that it was far too short to be considered an SK novel. I think it would have worked better as a novella in one of his story compilations, personally.

Those are the only 2 pages of comic and then the story starts and what a nice one really. I dig it. big_smile

Re: What R U Reading?

Just ten pages into Howard Zinn's "A People's History of the United States" and I'm already floored. I knew that Christopher Columbus was a bit of a dick, but I didn't know he was a genocidal maniac. The things those standardized American History middle/high school textbooks conveniently leave out...

Inferno - Dante Alighieri

Re: What R U Reading?

I am rereading my 2008 version of my five year memoir as I am reading over parts of my Christian testimony as I am writing the thing.

Re: What R U Reading?

I'm reading an old back issue of Fangoria magazine I ordered off of amazon.

Issue 300

Re: What R U Reading?

Just finished up the first story in SK's Four Past Midnight, "The Langoliers". It took me awhile to read it, but only because I kept getting distracted by the damn internet or was just too tired from work to read. lol But it was an excellent story. Each chapter was utterly riveting. It's a solid science fiction piece.

Just picked up James Thompson's Savage Night. Digging it so far, the prose is very dark and violent.

Re: What R U Reading?

Sk's "Secret Window, Secret Garden" from the Four Past Midnight novella compilation. The story had an ending I never saw coming (and in fact, I'm still not sure if I like the ending or not), but damn...what an intense read.

Re: What R U Reading?

Just finished off Savage Night. Which was a very interesting and unique read. The main character is an alcoholic an ailing hitman hired to knock off another similarly pathetic alcoholic who is going to go to trial to unveil a gambling racket he was part of. The premise sounds like a typical crime novel, but it ends up being really quite different. It's really very much a character study. It's interesting the different sides and depth we find each character as the story unfolds. It culminates in a violent and gruesome ending.

Phillip K Dick - The Three stigmata of Palmer Eldrich

Re: What R U Reading?

Finally finished reading the last two stories in SK's Four Past Midnight. I haven't been much in the mood to read the last month, so it took awhile. Great book though! All four novellas contained within were well worth the time. Stephen King at his best...

Re: What R U Reading?

Anyone else reading Doctor Sleep?  I am about half way through.  Can't put it down but that darn place called work keeps getting in the way.

Re: What R U Reading?

That VERY EVIL Lovecraft book, what's the name again, mmmhhh, oh yes, NECRONOMICON!!!
