I'm obsessed with Spider-Man and X-Men anything....movies and comics.  When I was a kid, I had probably 300-400 Spider-Man comics.  I don't have them anymore and I often wonder wtf happened to them.

My first guess would have to be: mom.  lol

Re: Favorite Comic Books

I just bought death of the family and what claims to be the definitive battle between wolverine and sabertooth. I know I've heard that before too but I'm just a sucker for anything to do with both of them kicking the cr@p out of each other. Also got a green lantern graphic novel. Volume three I hope this is the book that sees the pompous guardians get their @sses kicked. Never been the type that could wait until Xmas to open up my presents.lol

Hahahaha Still great stuff. I'm a big fan of everything X-Men.

Reading this right now and man it ROCKS!!!
Spawn is definitely my favorite EVER!!!

Re: Favorite Comic Books

I haven't gotten into spawn because there is just so much stuff to read but I'm hoping to start reading the series one day. The story itself from what I hear is pretty good. How long is the series ? I saw a bunch of volumes to the series and that doesn't include the dark ages. So many books I still haven't read all the walking dead or grim fairy tales graphic novels. I want to read the takes of wonderland prequel. One day hopefully I live long enough to read every story..........not likely. Man I just saw a hack/slash vs ash graphic novel. Ahhh this is a vicious cycle.

Re: Favorite Comic Books

They're up to #237 now so yes a LOT of them.
Only have 25 of them but I enjoy them very much. The drawings are AMAZING and the story is badass. smile

And yes, I saw something about that Hack/Slash VS Ash, looks nice.

Vicious circle the comics??? Yes story of my life really. lol

I have an original ASM #23 ("The Goblin and the Gangsters") but it's in poor condition.  Currently it's worth about twenty bucks. hmm

In fact I have a number of old ASMs from the 70s and 80s.  Captain America may be my favorite comic book character but the majority of my collection is Spider-Man books.

Damn still 20 freaking bucks in poor condition, imagine well preserved, wow.

Re: Favorite Comic Books

A couple times a year I look up my older books to see what their current value is; right now, a mint-condition ASM #23 is worth about $1,200 US.

I think my most valuable comic (or at least my favourite) is the guy sitting right in the middle of the bunch:

First appearance of the Swamp Thing. This copy is very goodish, so nowhere near mint, but not missing anything or pages detached. I think it goes around around 150-200. A mint copy can go as high as 15k.

Re: Favorite Comic Books

Ahhh Swamp Thing has always been a favorite of mine. And wow, what a cool bunch man, Mystery I had a few of them, lost no idea where. Grumble... And while speaking about Creatures [NO not you The Creature hahaha], one I like a whole damn lot too is the badass CONCRETE dude. He's just amazing. Dark Horse man, such a bunch of great fantastic and brilliant ones they have really. big_smile
