Re: Most Shocking Death Scenes?

For those who have seen this classic, and strictly from a psychological point of view, (because we don't see it on screen) this death scene from Island of Lost Souls (1932) is probably one of the most horrifying of all. In other words, horror of the mind.

Re: Most Shocking Death Scenes?

Great ending, very similar ending to a film that came years later, The Last Man on Earth. The whole feel of that movie is sort of a precursor to the zombie horde movies, same goes for The Last Man on Earth.

Gage's death in Pet Sematary.  It broke my heart when I read the book, and the lead up to it in the movie still makes me cringe.

Re: Most Shocking Death Scenes?

The mom's death in Frayed was one of the most brutal bludgeoning deaths I've seen in a movie. It was really well done and in the special features on the dvd they show behind the scenes of how they did it.

Re: Most Shocking Death Scenes?

I found the bathroom death  in The Dead Zone really shocking when i first saw it!

Re: Most Shocking Death Scenes?

slow deaths definitely make more shocking scenes, instead of being shot in head or sth...i cant easily choose one "best". but snail scene from Lucio Fulci's Aenigma was impressive

yuck...

there was a similar scene in The Beyond, with spiders but i rate it "less" shocking as the character already fell down and probably lost concience before spiders showed up
