Re: Favorite Comic Books

Very nice, bet that comic is worth a little bit!

Re: Favorite Comic Books

Spider-Gwen?

Now I remember why I stopped reading Spider-Man in the mid-90s.  And I thought it could never get any worse than Maximum Clonage...

Re: Favorite Comic Books

Not a recent Marvel fan other than Brubaker's work.

Re: Favorite Comic Books

As much as I love comics, I haven't read much Marvel over the last ten or fifteen years.  Marvel in the mid-90s was bad enough but once they started with the Ultimate titles in early '00s it went from bad to worse.  They only have a very small handful of titles that are any good right now IMO.

And the success of the Marvel movies hasn't helped.  While the movies have all been great, Marvel Comics has taken to revamping all their characters and "modernizing" them to more closely resemble their movie counterparts in an attempt to lure in fans of the films, but in doing so they've eradicated a shit-ton of continuity, and in some cases completely changing long-established characteristics.

Marvel movies may be kicking all kinds of ass right now, but Marvel Comics is a complete train wreck.

I like EVERY DAMN COMIC EVER DONE. Period. Been raised with them, when in a family trip, dad got us boxes of them so we read them all the time. And as you probably have discovered by now I have an insane range of various tastes so yeah, every one of them is a wonder to me. Sure have my favorites though. But I'm always glad anything connected with Spidey comes out. Spidey and Spawn = BEST SUPER HEROS EVER to me. big_smile

I more or less agree. Still love my DC/Vertigo (though they do screw up sometimes) and the odd independents I check out every now and again.

I need to check if more are out now, but Brunaker and Phillips Criminal was my favourite series of the last few years, and it's actually from a Marvel subsiduary (though not in the MU).

Re: Favorite Comic Books

And for what it's worth, Amazing Spider-Man 121 in pretty poor condition is worth around $200, closer to mint and we are looking around 700-1000. (from a 9.2 to a 10 rating prices sky rocket).

Re: Favorite Comic Books

I have an Amazing Spider-Man #23.  But it looks like a dog chewed it up and shit it out. lol

Worth a little bit when in good condition, but if your copy is in poor condition it's probably only $20-30.

That issue's worth around $1400 in mint condition, and about $80 in good condition.  In the condition mine's it, it's probably worth about half of what you said. lol
