Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters Review

I went into this movie thinking I wouldn’t like it, I had no expectations, I was actually shocked by how good and fun it was! Many critics hate it because it’s not a huge blockbuster movie or a movie that’s boring as hell with all dialogue that will win tons of Tiff awards. The plot is simple; a fairy tale based a brother and sister are trapped in a candy (gingerbread) house in the forest with a cannibalistic witch.

Critics need to get over themselves. Stick to rating The Iron Lady or Lincoln and don’t even bother rating these movies. Also if you didn’t want to see it made into a movie stick to the fairytale and don’t see it. easy enough?

There’s no need to pick the movie apart, all I can say is if you want a fun ride, with some cool gore kills, witch brawls and fight scenes, witches flying on brooms, cool make-up effects with a light plot go see this movie. I will say the 3D was used really well considering most 3D more are a gimmick, this was one of the better movies I’ve seen in 3D.

Famke Janssen was a cool witch, her makeup was good also! The movie opens like the fairy tale and basically is a story of after the happy ending of the fairy tale. Where Hansel & Gretel are now. I recommend it to anyone!

The movie settles for showers of gore with intermittent moments of spoofiness.
