Netflix’s Hemlock Grove Season 2 Details

Yep despite its haters the Netflix Original Series “Hemlock Grove,” from executive producer Eli Roth and based on Brian McGreevy’s novel of the same name, will return with a second season next year. Executive Producer Eli Roth is clearly excited saying quote;

“The worldwide fan response to ‘Hemlock Grove’ was phenomenal…” “Netflix members loved the potent combination of sexy monsters, mystery, and the dark family soap opera that ended with a huge twist, leaving audiences worldwide totally shocked. Season One was just a warm up for what we have in store for season two. Get ready to be scared in ways you never expected.”

The Netflix original series stars Famke Janssen (“X-Men”), Bill Skarsgård (“Simon & The Oaks”), Landon Liboiron (“Terra Nova”), Freya Tingley (“X”), and Dougray Scott (“Mission Impossible II”).

The second season of Hemlock Grove will consist of 10 episodes that will go into production later this year with it airing on Netflix in 2014. It is curious that Netflix has decided to cut back on the episodes which may be because of how expensive the series is. It reportedly cost more per episode to make then The Walking Dead which is no small amount.

The cost of Hemlock Grove was well worth it as Netflix saw a massive increase of 2million subscribers thanks in no small part to original programming like Hemlock Grove.

Our readers were very split on whether Hemlock Grove was worth seeing or not and I was firmly in the haters camp. That said it cost me nothing to see the series and so I had nothing lost and nothing gained from Hemlock Grove. I am a big fan of original horror programming and I hope that the success of Hemlock Grove will see more horror programming come to Netflix.

What are your thoughts on Season 2 of Hemlock Grove excited?

        When will Hemlock Grove be on tv?

          Likely never. Although it is ironic that fans want TV networks to license Netflix content given its normally the other way around

        New Arrested Development already came out about a month ago and it was great. They even air commercials for it on regular TV still. In a Q&A with Hurwitz, it sounded like more episodes are being planned instead of a movie because it was so successful on Netflix. I’m really looking forward to more.

          I would be happy either way, more episodes or movie, Season 4 was great!

        I am in the camp of very disappointed people but still watched it anyway and thought the last 3-4 episodes were pretty good. :) It is a real shame that the acting was sub par from so many of the actors cough*Bill Skarsgard*. I will probably watch Season 2 for the super sexy soap opera horror, kinda like True Blood. TB has better acting and script but not by much.
