KEPT Writer Sets Record Straight
Posted By : Meh, Monday Dec,31
Filed Under : General Horror,

Not to long ago we posted news about a new film from Twisted Pictures called KEPT which sounded from the plot to be a remake of Fatal Attraction. We were not impressed, but we also didnt know much about the movie accept for the rumored similarities to Fatal Attraction. Today we have the good news that this is totally wrong right from the horses mouth.

Cliff Burns who wrote the original story which the movie KEPT being developed by Twisted Pictures is based on wrote in to politely point out this movie is NOTHING like Fatal Attraction. Here is what he had to say;

There seems to be some kind of misinformation going around that the movie "Kept" is virtually a remake of "Fatal Attraction".  As the writer of the original novella upon which the film "Kept" is based, I can tell you that nothing could be further from the truth.

"Kept" is far more offbeat and, frankly, original than "Fatal Attraction"--if I were the one drawing comparisons, I would say the mood of the original novella is much closer to Roman Polanski's brilliant 1978 film, "The Tenant".

When I was discussing "Kept" with the eventual screenwriter, Jayson Rothwell, I told him that, to me, the theme of the movie is that even in Hell there is a hierarchy of evil. Viewers of the film will see exactly what I mean. There are more twists and turns in the novella that the Pacific Coast Highway and I'm sure the production team will retain that edge and uncertainty in the finished flick.  Folks are going to be in for a wild ride.

Thanks to Cliff for taking the time to write in on the project. This makes sense since Twisted Pictures is best known for doing creative new films, not rehashing old ideas. IE, Repo The Genetic Opera and the little franchise known as SAW. Filming will begin next year. Thoughts?
