Below you can checkout the short film Granny which Steven C Miller ( Automaton Transfusion / Agression Scale ) sho t for Jamie Kennedy’s production company.
Steven says that they had a feature script that execs had a very hard time understanding the tone, so they brought him on board. Considering how awesome this short film is I am not surprised studios did not get it.
The feature is basically a very dark horror/comedy in the vein of Dead Alive and that is the tone. Lots of blood, over the top carnage and one bad ass Granny.

Terrible CGI blood spatter.
like you I am not a fan of CGI but I am first to admit I couldnt do what Steven did in a few hours with one camera in my lifetime.
