2001 Maniacs Free Directors Cut

You know what makes Tim Sullivan such a bad ass? Its his amazing talent. Wanna know what makes him a good looking and charming bad ass? The fact we are getting a 2001 Maniacs Directors Cut for FREE! Well ok not quite free. But its going to be included as a free bonus disc on the sequel. Now THAT Is a bad ass extra. I sure hope all you other horror directors follow his example. Tim Sullivan told IconsOfFright quote:

It’s going to be called 2001 MANIACS: REDUX. It’s going to the way it was written, storyboarded, the way it was meant to be with different scenes, re-edited and with the original music. BUT, we’re not going to make you double-dip. We’re going to make it a bonus disc on the DVD release for 2001 MANIACS: BEVERLY HELLBILLYS. Now, how’s that?

We are huge fans of the first film 2001 Maniacs which is a remake of H.G. Lewis' classic. The remake played much more like a 80's film with tons of gore and some sorted gratutious nudity. Today on Fangoria, Tim Sullivan announced the official title of the sequel, 2002 Maniacs: Beverly Hellbillies.

Sullivan told Fango awhile back, "Basically, it’s the maniacs from the first film taking Pleasant Valley on the road to somewhere in California. The lunatics are heading west in search of gold and gore.”

According to Sullivan the script is already finished and the official announcement will be made on August 11th. There will be a midnight screening of 2001 Maniacs at the Nuart Theater in West Los Angeles (11272 Santa Monica Boulevard). Now my only hope is that he can bring back several people from the first cast including Richard Englund, Lin Shaye and hottie Christa Campbell.
