Bale Confirmed for Terminator 4

So many rumors over the last two weeks on whether Christian Bale was or was not going to star in Terminator 4 Salvation. Would he play a new character? Would he play John Conner? You will recall the producers had originally said that the movie would evolve around a new hero and the John Conner character would be a mentor. Well throw that all away because according to Variety John Conner will be played by none other then..... Christian Bale.

Bale will play Connor, now in his 30s, in the fourth installment of the "Terminator" franchise. So although he may be a mentor character I seriously doubt that it will evolve around a new character and not Conner. Considering what Christian Bale did for the Batman franchise the fact that Bale will star in a new franchise of Terminator movies makes me VERY excited.

McG is directing the project which will begin shooting in Budapest this spring. The new Terminator movie is basically a new series. Just like Star Wars did and just like they are doing with Batman Begins. I have to say I am pretty damn excited at this point!

You will also remember that Claire Danes and Nick Stahl will not be returning. And as much as we would like to see Arnold back he will not have a major role. There is talk of a cameo but thats it. The Terminator 4 script has been completed by John Brancato and Michael Ferris.
