Spiral direct to DVD?

It was recently reported that co-directors Adam Green and Joel David Moore received a PG-13 rating for their upcoming film psychological thriller Spiral and was set to hit in select theaters February 8th. 

Despite the February 8th theatrical date, it appears Anchor Bay is putting Spiral out on DVD February 19th.  Multiple online retailers such as Amazon.com and Circuit City have Spiral up for pre-orders with the Feb 19th date listed for release. 

It is unclear if Anchor Bay is still giving Spiral the small theatrical release on February 8th.  It will be interesting to see if Anchor Bay really does do a DVD release 11 days after it hits theaters or if they scrap the theatrical run and go Direct-to-DVD only.  Seems like a weird concept to me to put the releases 11 days apart like that.  I guess we'll just have to stay tuned and see what they decide to do!
