Dreamworks Pick Up Paranormal Activity
For quite some time the internet has been buzzing about Oren Peli's Paranormal Activity. There have been rumors that at some screenings people were actually shaking in their seats. So this flick has really been getting people shaken up. Word out of Slamdance is that it really shook up Dreamworks.
Variety reports that Dreamworks has acquired all domestic and remake rights to the film. Along with the international rights the deal was said to be worth seven figures. This is great news for Oren Peli who put the film together with a micro budget, hand held cameras and only one week. Paranormal Activity will likely be released straight to DVD but we will be seeing a larger budget remake on the way soon.
Hopefully Dreamworks will be releasing the film soon on DVD so we can check out this bad boy. The film actually follows a married couple who begin experiencing "paranormal activity" in their home. To see what is happening they set up surveliance cameras to see what they can capture. Those two nights are what this film is comprised of. Once we recieve word on the release date or news on the remake we will be here to let you know. Stay tuned.
