Black Death Claims Three Cast Members

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lena Headey, Sean Bean and Rupert Friend will star in "Black Death" for Ecosse Films. The movie is set in an apocalyptic world during the middle ages. A band of brothers set out to find a necromancer against the backdrop of the first break out of the bubonic plague.

Geoff Sax will direct a script penned by Dario Poloni. Friend will play a young monk sent to investigate rumors of people being brought back to life, while Bean plays a mercenary priest who arrives in the same village. Against the backdrop of the peaceful village lies a pact with the forces of darkness, orchestrated by the village ruler (Headey).

"Dario Poloni's highly original screenplay appealed to me as a fan of the genre," Sax said. "Coupled with its edgy characters, thought-provoking material and kinetic action scenes, it's a very exciting project to be directing."
