The Cottage Droped Direct to DVD

Just a few weeks ago we shared with you the first trailer for the UK horror/comedy film The Cottage. I thought it looked like bloody good fun and with the UK cinema release set for March 14th I was hoping to see it in the US fairly soon too. Well it appears that The Cottage is going to hit the US, but it is being dumped straight-to-dvd. Fangoria reports that Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is releasing The Cottage on DVD in the US on April 29th. No word yet on cover art or specs for the DVD other than it will be an anamorphic widescreen transfer, but I'd expect more info to surface in the coming weeks.

The Cottage stars Andy Serkis(best known as Gollum from LOTR) and Reece Shearsmith(League of Gentlemen) as kidnappers who's attempt to make a big ransom goes horribly wrong. The duo takes a gang leader's daughter (Unbelievably sexy Jennifer Ellison) captive in the countryside but she quickly turns the tables by kidnapping one of her captors. Unfortunately for them all, they soon come across a psychotic killer farmer and all hell breaks loose.

Also, The Cottage website is now up and running and has lots of good stuff on the film
