Neil Marshall Directing Sacrilege
Neil Marshall has been gearing up audiences for his next film Doomsday but he is definitely looking farther into the future. Variety reports that Focus Features have just made a deal for his follow-up film, Sacrilege. This time around while he is keeping mum about the details will be a old west horror flick.
"It is set during the Gold Rush, a time remembered for incidents like the Donner Party," Marshall said. "It is meant to be a pitch-black, gritty, period horror movie." He went on to say that the film will draw on themes of isolation and paranoia and such influences as John Carpenter's "The Thing."
"This is 'Unforgiven' by way of H.P. Lovecraft, with that grim, gritty setting and a horror element nobody has seen before," Marshall said.
