Donnie Yen Painted Skin Photos

From our buddy at 24FramesPerSecond comes the first photo for Painted SKin. International superstar Donnie Yen known for his roles in Jet Li's Hero and even had a role in Blade II will star in Chinese supernatural actioner, Painted Skin. The film is based on a story within Strange Tales of Liaozhai which is a book of Chinese classic tales. Kind of like Grimms Fairy Tales in the states.

The story is about a love hate relationship between a vixen spirit and a group of humans. The pic will be helmed by none other than Wilson Yip. You may not recognize the name but he directed Bio-Zombie and was also an actor in the Pang Brothers The Eye. Yip has directed countless films in China and is very well known in China. Andy Chin will co-direct.

Painted Skin will be a China-Singapore co-production with a budget of $10 million. Shooting will begin at the end of this year or early 2008. They expect to be able to release it at the end of 2008.
