General Horror,
Alright, so there isnt TONS of news involved with this, just some interesting information and I wanna see other people's views on this. It's been almost a year since we had a report on Ti West's Cabin Fever 2, and yes it's actually been filmed. Fangoria recently with actor Marc Senter(The Lost) who has a big role in the sequel, and he talked about the film and how it differs from the original. The thing that jumped out at me in this article was this phrase: "Cabin Fever 2 is very different from the first one—it’s basically an ode to 1980s horror movies. It’s like THE KARATE KID meets CARRIE."
I personally read this and cringed. As much as I love both those films, there is just something in that comparision that didnt sit well with me. Marc Senter then even went into how his character is like Johnny from Karate Kid dialog wise. Hmmm....theres a difference between good 80's cheese and bad 80's cheese and I have a bad feeling about this one.
I know many people love throwbacks to the 80's, but is this something you'd be interested in for Cabin Fever 2? I personally didnt like the first film at all, so maybe this is the changed the sequel needed to make. What are your thoughts on this sequel being more of an 80's throwback than the original? Feel free to sound off!
