Repo! Website Goes Live
Posted By : jmh314, Tuesday Apr,08

We have been reporting on Repo! The Genetic Opera for quite some time, as this horror-opera has really been an intriguing project.  In a recent article, we reported that actor Bill Moseley said it will be an uphill battle for a wide release and he was trying to publicize it however possible.  Well sometimes a website can go a long way to drumming up publicity and interest and the official website has now gone live.

The website is flash based but is filled with tons of goodies.  It has sections for both the original stage opera and the film adaptation.  There are plenty of short music clips to enjoy and you can hear the rock influence of the music.  Remember this is a ROCK Opera, so it may actually have musical appeal to some of you.  A few of the clips I heard reminded me of Evanescence, System of a Down, or even a little Marilyn Manson, but they have a slightly more opera influence.

The official site also has several sections that you will need to check back on as they are going to continually add new character profiles, music clips, and photos.  Downloads a plenty exist as there are several propaganda posters and images for download, as well as tons of banners for blogs or forum signatures you can add.

I highly suggest everyone check out the Official Repo! Website and see for yourself that Darren Bousman may have created one of the craziest horror experiences we will ever see.  I think the website could go a long way to drumming up interest as some of the music clips really caught my attention.

I know the 100% musical dialog thing isnt for everyone. That aspect will turn some people off of this project and thats understandable, but can we all get past the "Paris Hilton is in this, I'm boycotting" crap?  If something like that is gonna stop you from supporting one of the ballsiest horror ideas to come around in some time, then dont complain when you get lots of remakes/sequels.  When you dont support original projects like Repo! because of one actress, you are just helping prove to Hollywood its not worth taking a risk on innovative ideas.  If anything, go support Repo! just for the chance you may get to see Paris get killed.  Just dont let some stupid tabloid grudge keep you from supporting a film trying to be different in our favorite genre. Forget about Paris and check out the Official Repo! Website to see what it really has to offer.
